Looking for something new to watch over the Thanksgiving weekend? Well, you may want to try the 'best ever' series that has viewers wanting to 'watch it over again'.

After the joy of Thanksgiving and madness of Black Friday is over, what's better than a chilled Saturday in front of the TV watching something new?

We've had folks talking about the ‘super intense’ film being called ‘best movie ever’ recently, while a series having viewers hooked to this day despite being seven years old continues to make a name for itself.

There is another series on the mind of many Netflix series right now, one that first dropped in the UK on ITV back in 2016.

Marcella, from acclaimed writer Hans Rosenfeldt, is a British drama that sees Anna Friel star in the lead role of Marcella Backland, a police detective working in London.

Marcella is quickly met with problems in the capital after the body of a missing child is discovered inside a wall - but three seasons in, the main protagonist continues to be met with tricky situations.

Joining Friel as part of the cast are the likes of Ray Panthaki, Nicholas Pinnock, Jamie Bamber, Nina Sosanya, Jack Doolan and Harry Lloyd.

While the first season of Marcella may have dropped in 2016 and the most recent, season three, in 2020, it remains a talking point on Netflix forums across the web.

It's the hot topic of conversation on the 'Netflix Bangers' Facebook group, with one user starting the conversation by saying: "I’m hooked on this at the minute it’s so good!!"

Another in the comments section quipped: "It was so good you could watch it over," while a third simply put: "Best ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Season one of Marcella sits at an impressive 73 percent Rotten Tomatoes score - though critics were not so kind on season two with a 57 per cent grade.

However, 2020's season three is seen as a massive improvement after obtaining an 80 per cent score on the review aggregation site.

The Financial Times' Suzi Feay penned: "Friel is watchful, wary, mostly blank as the unfathomable Marcella. The emotion only shows when she's mid-snog. You can predict to the second when the eyes will open for that over-his-shoulder panic look."

While Steve Murray, from Arts ATL, wrote: "Friel is strong, and she has a good nemesis in Amanda Burton as the steely matriarch of the family."
