Netflix viewers have found themselves confused by a gripping new series lauded as a 'must-watch' and dubbed a '10/10'.

If you're looking for a binge-worthy show to watch then you shouldn't need to look much further than Netflix, although this production has been described as one of the 'most chaotic' fans have seen - but still proves to be a hit.

The series, which is currently the third-most popular production on IMDb, where it has also scored an impressive 6.8 rating - follows Sophie O'Neil (played by Brittany Snow) and her family's move from Boston to deep Texas, and befriends devious socialite Margo Banks (Malin Akerman).

From there, Sophie becomes consumed by her new life which comes hand-in-hand with obsession, seduction and murder.

We're speaking about The Hunting Wives, an eight-part series that is an adaptation of the namesake novel by May Cobb.

It contains a lot of NSFW action, which has left people a little bit confused.

Taking to Twitter to urge fans to switch on the show, one user posted: "Can’t look away from The Hunting Wives but equally like what the f**k am I watching #TheHuntingWives."

A second typed: "The Hunting Wives was probably the most chaotic wlw show I’ve ever watched."

While a third added: "I'm watching the hunting wives cause brittany snow girl kisser but what the f**k is this show."

Meanwhile, another user summed up the show brilliantly, writing: "How do I explain that in the hunting wives there’s three psychopathic women in a love triangle and they're all married."

But not everyone was so cynical.

"Viewer discretion this show has a lot of nudity. But the storyline and the actresses are perfect for their roles in THE HUNTING WIVES - a must watch," one user tweeted.

Another wrote: "It’s 3am and I’m just finishing the hunting wives on Netflix and I must say 10/10, go watch!"

While the book has been adapted for the screen, fans of the novel will notice that there are some plot twists that don't necessarily take place in the pages of The Hunting Wives.

"I think that the book was really the blueprint for us taking it and making it our own," Snow told Decider in a recent interview.

"And May Cobb, the author, was there a lot on set and with us every step of the way and she was so supportive and so excited by it all.

"I think fans of the book are really going to be surprised by some liberties that we took while also staying really true to the characters. I think that we have a few twists and turns that nobody’s going to see coming because they definitely weren’t in the book."

The Hunting Wives is available to stream on Netflix US now.
