First Look At That '90s Show Teases Red And Kitty's Return

The parents are set to return to the series alongside a few other familiar faces

Parents Red and Kitty are back in a first-look image of Netflix's spin-off of That '70s Show, only this time they're taking on a whole new decade.

Fans of the popular sitcom will be all too familiar with seeing Red and Kitty dealing with the gaggle of teenagers in their basement in the decade of Jaws and Saturday Night Fever, but the new spin-off is set to be all about the 1990s.

Aptly named That '90s Show, the series is set to focus on a new generation of teens as Red and Kitty's granddaughter, the daughter of Eric and Donna, comes to stay with them for the summer.

Leia Forman will be played by Callie Haverda, while her group of friends is made up of IT star Ashley Aufderheide as Gwen, Sam Morelos as Nikki, Maxwell Acee Donovan as Nate, Reyn Doi as Ozzie and Sam Mace Coronel as Jay.

Though there will certainly be a lot of new things about the spin-off, Netflix assured there'll still be some familiarity for old fans as it released the first-look image showing Kitty and Red, played by Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith, in their kitchen, where they were seen so many times while berating Eric throughout the years in That '70s Show.

The picture shows the now-grandparents sitting at their round kitchen table, with some new wallpaper and kitchen décor reflecting the passage of time since Eric flew the nest.

As well as the return of Kitty and Red, That '90s Show will welcome back much of the original cast in guest appearances throughout the series.

Topher Grace (Eric), Laura Prepon (Donna), Ashton Kutcher (Kelso), Mila Kunis (Jackie), and Wilmer Valderrama (Fez) are all set to appear, Variety reports, though Danny Masterson, who played Hyde, will not be featured as he is currently preparing to stand trial following multiple sexual assault allegations.

Images shared on Twitter indicate the gang's iconic, completely unchanged basement will play a part in the new series, likely acting as the perfect spot for Leia and her friends to get swept up in their own antics as Eric, Donna and the rest of the group did years before.

A release date for That '90s Show has not yet been confirmed, though the comedy has received a 10-episode order at Netflix with original series creators Bonnie Turner and Terry Turner on board to write and executive produce the show along with their daughter Lindsey Turner.
