People think they've finally solved Disney Mandela Effect and it's messing with their heads

Is this really proof your recollection of the iconic Disney DVD intro is actually right?

A Disney fan believes they've got proof that the iconic intro some of us remember a certain way is not just a Mandela Effect.

As you get older, details can get a little hazy and no matter how much you loved watching Disney movies on repeat, would you be willing to put money on your memory of certain movies and songs being spot on?

It turns out a lot of us are remembering things wrong - whether it comes to Snow White's Seven Dwarves' working song or how fully clothed Mickey Mouse is - but one Disney fan believes the introduction to the iconic DVDs is actually how most of us remember.

The Mandela Effect

The Mandela Effect is 'a type of false memory that occurs when many different people incorrectly remember the same thing,' Medical News Today explains.

It continues: "Memories are not always precise recordings of events. They can change with time, and people may have different memories in different contexts.

"Memory is also highly suggestible, which means that other people’s opinions and memories may influence what a person remembers."

But what's the Mandela Effect which has been leaving Disney fans feeling confused?

The Disney Mandela Effect

Disney fans have been flooding to social media in recent years to question whether they're remembering the start of Disney DVDs correctly.

Was it always a castle? Or was there one with Tinkerbell flying over to sprinkle fairy dust and dotting the 'i' in Disney with her wand?

A TikTok video previously slammed the Tinkerbell version as 'fake' saying it 'never actually happened' and 'instead people are likely combining several memories into one'.

However, one Disney fan now believes they've actually found proof that it's not just a Mandela Effect people were recalling and that Tinker Bell being the one to spark up the 'Disney DVD' sign did exist.

Taking to Reddit thread r/MandelaEffect, user u/AFUniversCat addressed the Mandela Effect surrounding Tinkerbell at the start of Disney DVD's, explaining they've always believed they saw a Tinkerbell logo at the start of the Little Einstein videos.

"As a kid, I was OBSESSED with little Einstein: mission celebration and watched the DVD of it we had pretty much everyday at some point. And the Tinker Bell logo WAS there." they said.

"I remembered it so vividly, probably thanks to the fact kid me watched this DVD so much. I basically knew I was right. It had happened, at least in that one little Einstein DVD. If it was only this one."

Determined to prove it wasn't just the Mandela Effect, the user did a bit of digging and located the Little Einstein DVD and sure enough, 'FOUND IT'."

"We had a reason to believe this mandela effect," they argued.

Sharing a link to a YouTube video of the start of the DVD, you can indeed see Tinkerbell waving her magic wand at the start.

The user continued: "Now for people that remember it differently, with the castle for example, this is probably just because of association with disney and because of actual false memory/mandela effect.

"After all, it was probably veryyy long ago for all of us we saw this thing play. Even I, who was assured I had seen it, didn't exactly remered every movement of Tinker Bell for example, and the exact shape of the DVD logo. So in that regard, there is still mandela effect/false memory at play.

"Personally I didn't remember it with the castle tho, but since some did, it counts. Mandela effect is false memories by a bunch of people, not EVERY person ever. And I watched this think probably too much, leading me to remember details such as not having a castle better ig X)

"So there is mandela effect, but it comes from memories remembering this fast play DVD screen wrongly and not it coming out of literally no where.

"Thank god. I knew it existed."

Phew, I'm glad that one's cleared up.
