Disney fans just finding out they've been quoting films wrong their entire lives and are completely shocked

The 'Mandela effect' has been in full flow our whole lives and we've never even noticed

Close your eyes and picture Mickey Mouse. What is he wearing?

For those that don't have aphantasia, you'll likely have remembered he dons two large white gloves, two clunky yellow boots, and red shorts with suspenders attached to them.

How shocked would you be to hear that not everything I mentioned was correct?

Mickey Mouse is actually a bit of a ladies man - strutting around his Clubhouse topless, flirting with Minnie and Daisy - and there's no suspenders in sight.

Yes, you read that right, the mascot of Disney is actually a topless mouse - and we know that now because of TikToker Ashley Ridgley who addressed some common 'Mandela effects' in pop culture.

Everyone remembers Mickey wears gloves and yellow boots - that's just obvious, but what else does he don? (Disney+)

The effect is named after a false memory shared by many of former South African president Nelson Mandela dying in prison in the 1980s, despite the fact that he was very much alive and passed away in 2013.

It might seem harmless for one person or maybe a relatively small group of people to have inaccurate memories of an event.

But with the Mandela Effect we're talking about very large numbers of people all sharing some false memory.

So, without further ado, let's get into what Disney films you have been quoting wrong your entire life.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

Ridgley said: "We all know the Hi-Ho song, but do we really? Many people remember the line from the song: "hi-ho, hi-ho. It's off to work we go'.

"But what if I told you that in the current reality that we're living in. That was never said. The line in our current reality is 'hi ho, hi ho. 'It's home from work. We go.' They never, ever said it's off to work. We go in the current reality that we're living in."

Yes, yes, yes, I know - I also remembered it wrong but let's not dwell on that, there's more things your brain has tricked you with.

Alice in Wonderland

We all remember Alice's discussion with the Cheshire Cat, don't we? He tells her 'we're all mad here'.

No he doesn't apparently, Ridgley actually confirmed the mischevious cat says: "Most everyone is mad here."

101 Dalmatians

Cruella De Ville, the main antagonist who wanted to wear the puppies as a coat, how would you spell her name... the way I did?

Well, like everything so far... you'd be wrong again. Ridgley actually explained it's spelt 'Cruella De Vil'.

Disney intro sequence

This isn't as equally remembered as everyone, but a lot of people seem to think the introduction to Disney films always sees Tinkerbell whizz past the Walt Disney logo and sprinkle some of her magic on it - this is not the case.

A shooting star is actually the thing that flies above it, although there was one production where Tinkerbell did this.

In fact, a lot of the misconceptions can be easily explained.

For Alice in Wonderland the Cheshire Cat does say 'we're all mad here' in the 2010 'live action' reboot, while the seven dwarves do sing 'we're off to work we go' while heading to start their shift.

But for the others - I'm as lost as you guys.
