Toy Story fans have been left scratching their heads after watching the new trailer for the franchise's upcoming fifth instalment.
Set for release next summer, the upcoming movie follows eight-year-old Bonnie, who seemingly casts her beloved toys aside in favour of technology, in the form of a green tablet called Lilypad, voiced by The Morning Show's Greta Lee.
While some are excited for the popular Pixar franchise to continue, not everyone is impressed, with some slamming the sequel as 'unnecessary'.
The 49-second-long teaser released on YouTube on Tuesday (November 11) throws up a major plot hole that fans have been quick to question.

The video shows a package arriving for Bonnie, as the toys - including Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen), Jessie (Joan Cusack), and Forky (Tony Hale) - quake in fear.

Also featured is fan-favorite cowboy Woody (Tom Hanks), who, technically, shouldn't even be there.
In 2019's Toy Story 4, he bid an emotional farewell to his fellow toys as he ran off to become a 'lost toy' at the carnival with Bo Peep.
Without explanation, he appears to be back for Toy Story 5 - and the people want answers.
Commenting on the trailer, one fan demanded: "You better explain why Woody is back, Pixar," while a second social media user said: "Didn't Woody literally leave?"
The discussion continued over on Reddit, as one fan shared a possible reason for Woody's return.
"The theory that I've seen floating around is that the fair that Woody stays with Bo at is actually a traveling carnival and that the carnival just happens to be passing through Andy/Bonnie's home town, creating a convenient reason for Woody to be back without actually breaking continuity," they explained.
"He became a wild toy, which means he can come and go whenever he wants. He's probably just visiting or something," a second also weighed in.
Others didn't care much for Toy Story 5, as one person said: "Yeah, IMMEDIATE pass for me. You ended it perfectly with 3, 4 wasn't needed, and now you're doing 5? Absolutely not."
Over on X, people were just as perplexed but seemed more open-minded.
"I'm not sold on Toy Story 5 because I believe this movie is totally unnecessary and shouldn't exist, but I'm willing to give it a chance," one fan admitted.
Seemingly addressing Woody, another questioned: "You were supposed to be at the fair with Bo....Why are you here?
"Why does Pixar keep on changing up the lore?" before adding: "I'll give it a chance, I guess."
Toy Story 5 is set to release in theaters on July 19, 2026. Meanwhile, the previous four movies are streaming now on Disney+.
