Hooters' waitresses have revealed how much they made in a day and it's sparked a huge conversation online.
Tipping and server salaries in the US have been topic of debate for a long time, so much so that the Trump administration's 'Big, Beautiful Bill' wants to tackle the issue by stopping tax on people's tips.
The new piece of legislation also aims to stop tax on overtime payments. So far, the controversial bill has passed through the House of Republicans and made its way to the Senate Republicans.

They've since made adjustments to it, LBC reported yesterday (June 17), something which isn't expected to go down very well with the House.
But until the bill is passed, servers will still have to get taxed on their tips. According to Toast, the average server in the US can make anywhere between $20,000 to $31,000 a year.
This depends on the establishment they work for and where they're based.

Some people like to be open about the money they make in the hospitality industry, including a handful of Hooters waitresses who shared how much they made on one specific day in a now-viral video shared to social media.
In it, each waitress said how much they'd like to make and later revealed how much they bagged by the end of their shift. It's presumed that what they are referring to what they made in tips.
The first girl, named Iana, said she wanted to make $125 that day and ended up making $202. Impressive.
Then there was Jessica, who said she wanted to make 50 bucks because she had plans to leave early. Sticking to her word she did, in fact, leave early, but managed to pocket $65.

Brooke was more ambitious and expressed her hopes of bringing in $150 that day, and she was so close to doing so and made $146.
Other girls also shared what they made and people have since reacted to the clip.

One person wrote on Twitter that they knew 'girls who were making like $500 a day', while a different person questioned how someone would be able to live off that kind of money.

Another wrote: "They’re actually making some good money!"
Someone asked AI chatbot Grok for clarification on if the waitresses were talking about tips or salary, to which it replied: "Yes, the amounts in the video ($50–$228) are likely just tips.
"Hooters waitresses also earn an hourly wage, typically the federal tipped minimum of $2.13 per hour, though this varies by state (e.g., $16.00 in California).
"Tips are additional, and employers ensure total earnings meet minimum wage laws."
