You are going to have to answer to Hannah Waddingham if you have got something negative to say about Tom Cruise, so careful what you say.

As a celebrity you are pretty much open to a whole lot of public criticism, and being in the public eye means that people can take shots at you for your shortcomings - or simply because they don't like you.

But it seems, if you keep trying to take a shot at Cruise, then Waddingham is gonna have a 'real problem'.

The Game of Thrones star joined the Mission Impossible franchise in the upcoming, Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning, where she worked closely with Cruise.

While the film was initially set to release in June 2024, it was pushed back to May 2025, so it won't be until next year until we get to see Cruise back at the helm as Ethan Hunt.

And while doing press for the film, Waddingham appeared on the Christmas episode of ITV’s James Martin’s Saturday Morning, where she made it clear that she wouldn’t be accepting any slander concerning Cruise.

She explained that, while she can’t reveal which character she plays within the film, it led her to spend ‘five really intensive days’ with Cruise.

The actor also revealed she shares a ‘kind of big scene’ that’s yet to be filmed with Cruise, but it’s apparent they’ve bonded together during production with her telling Martin: “I have to say, I have a real problem with anybody that goes at [Tom Cruise] now.

“Having met him and having spent five days intensely… he is without doubt one of the loveliest and encouraging, positive and inspiring human beings I have ever met. Isn’t he gorgeous?

"I have no time for anyone saying anything about him.”

Waddington also told SirusXM that one of the things she was most looking forward to during filming was her scenes with an actual flight carrier, as her father was in the River Police her entire life.

She told Cruise and film director, Christopher McQuarrie: “I know this world so much. I’ve got this down. Don’t worry. I’m used to brushing my teeth in a tiny little cabin.”

The release of the upcoming Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning is expected to be a relief for Cruise, as his last blockbuster Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One was contending with the storm that was Barbenheimer.

Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer dominated cinemas throughout the summer, alongside Greta Gerwig's Barbie, but more specifically IMAX screenings, leaving Dead Reckoning out of the running.
