Reba McEntire addresses claims she called Taylor Swift a ‘spoiled brat’ after alleged behavior at Super Bowl

She took to Instagram to address the rumors

Reba McEntire has addressed an ongoing rumor that has been circulating on social media about her and Taylor Swift.

In case you needed to hear this again... Don’t trust everything you read on the internet.

The country music star had to remind people of this after a social media post about her and Swift went viral and she faced a backlash.

Last week a Facebook page titled 'America Loves Liberty' claimed that McEntire had some stern words for Swift and her behavior at the Super Bowl.

McEntire sang the national anthem before the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers faced off at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas last month.

However, the post said: “Reba McEntire talks about how disappointed she was to look up at the big screen while performing the national anthem, only to see Taylor Swift laughing and drinking and making a mockery of the event.

“'I let her have it afterward. She’s an entitled little brat'.”

Now McEntire has taken to her Instagram to dispel all of these claims.

In fact she even praised the pop star.

“Please don’t believe everything you see on the Internet. I did not say this. Taylor is a wonderful artist, strong role model and has done so much good for so many people and the music industry,” McEntire wrote in her own post.

And her fans were staunchly on her side and also defended her against these claims.

One wrote: "Reba is a very classy nice woman. She would never say that."

Another added: "Reba McEntire is one of the most kind and caring people in the world. I don't believe half the things I read on the internet."

Someone else commented: "So sad Reba even has to make a comment about this and sadder some believe it!"

And a fourth penned: "I knew this didn’t come from you. You have more than enough class for this to be anywhere close to the truth."

However, the Facebook page itself claims to be entirely satirical and its description even says ‘nothing on this page is real’.

That being said, it doesn’t do much good for many people on the internet who just read headlines and keep scrolling.

The Facebook page even commented on McEntire addressing the claims.

“Oh my. Reba McEntire herself responded to our nonsense,” it wrote in an update.

“Thank you, Ma'am. We love your work. The article is as silly as the headline for a reason. It's not supposed to be believable. Your fans were staunchly on your side long before this post.”
