Admitting that you've been tabs on 2023's social media 'beef' of the year so far is nothing to be ashamed of.

The 'eyebrow raising' drama started with Kylie Jenner and Selena Gomez, who is now the most followed woman on Instagram, with the Kardashian sister forced to settle for second place.

Back in February, Selena, 30, took to Instagram to share that she had over-laminated her own brows.

Nothing too dramatic, however, shortly after, Kylie hopped on Instagram to share a zoomed in image on her brows with the caption: "This was an accident ?????"

But wait, it get's worse.

Jenner then shared a snap of her and Hailey Bieber, who is also a key component in this saga, both zooming on their eyebrows in a FaceTime video.

The two were accused of being childish, which prompted the make-up mogul to deny #eyebrowgate allegations.

"This is reaching," Kylie wrote.

"No shade towards Selena ever and I didn’t see her eyebrow posts! U guys are making something out of nothing. This is silly."

However, this 'beef' is actually more complex than you might have assumed, as back in January, Selena was unfortunately body-shamed after photos of her in a bikini were shared online.

And Selena fought back against the negative comments, saying: "I love my body."

Not too long after, Hailey uploaded a TikTok video with friends Kendall Jenner and Justine Skye, miming along to a popular soundbite that goes: "And I'm not saying she deserved it, but God's timing is always right."

Although the video has since been deleted, some fans believed it was a dig at Selena.

Hailey has denied the allegations, saying: "I never comment on this type of thing but we were just having a girls night and did a random TikTok sound for fun, it's not directed at anyone."

But wait - there's more.

You might remember when Selena took a brief break from social media in February, telling her fans that 'this was silly' and that she was 'too old for this'.

Before her announcement, the singer was seen sticking up for Taylor Swift after a video of Hailey appearing to criticise her resurfaced.

The clip shows Hailey and Method Man, who used to co-host the show Drop The Mic.

Method Man joked about Swift's songs in the clip, teasing a 'rap battle full of the meanest lyrics about a celebrity since Taylor Swift's last album'.

As Method Man mentioned the 'Shake It Off' singer, Hailey stuck out her tongue and pretended to put her finger in her throat as if to make herself sick.

After the clip was shared online, Gomez defended Swift and wrote: "So sorry, my best friend is and continues to be one of the best in the game."
