Zendaya and Robert Pattinson 'get engaged' as confusing new post leaves fans shocked

Zendaya and Robert Pattinson are engaged! Or are they?

The two actors are starring in not one, but three films together that are all set to be released next year — one being The Drama — the others being The Odeyssey and Dune: Part Three.

The A24 movie is about a couple who are engaged to be married but they find out some unsettling truths about one another in the days leading up to their nuptials. If you haven't done the math already, Zendaya and Pattinson are said couple.

Their characters are called Emma Harwood and Charlie Thompson and it's them that are engaged, not Pattinson and Zendaya. However, you have to give credit where credit's due to the marketing department of the upcoming film as the new snap of the pair together with Zendaya flashing an engagement ring sure left people confused, especially the photos of an apparent Boston Globe announcement.

Referring to Zendaya's actual fiancé Tom Holland, another person on Twitter said: "Someone check on my boy Tom."

"It might be over for Spider-Man lol," joked another, while a third wrote: "I will pay any amount to see Tom Holland reaction right now."

Other people took the time to express their excitement for the movie, which will be released April 3, 2026.

"I’m just too seated for this," one person said. A second wrote: "The poster gives off an intense, slightly chaotic vibe; I can't wait for THE DRAMA!"

"We all are eagerly waiting for it," echoed another.

Holland is believed to have popped the question to his long-time girlfriend between Christmas and New Year last year, but fans weren't made aware of their exciting news until Zendaya debuted a giant rock on her finger at the 2025 Golden Globes in January.

Shortly after, Holland's dad, Dominic Holland, confirmed that they were engaged. Sharing details of his son's plans, Dominic wrote on his Patreon blog (via PEOPLE): "Tom, as you know by now, was very incredibly well prepared.

"He had purchased a ring. He had spoken with her father and gained permission to propose to his daughter. Tom had everything planned out… When, where, how, what to say, what to wear."

While Zendaya is betrothed to Spider-Man star Holland, Pattinson is engaged to Suki Waterhouse.

The celebrity couple are thought to have gotten engaged in December 2023 and a few months later they welcomed their first child together. They've never publicly revealed the name of their baby, who was born in March 2024.
