Steve Harvey apologizes for asking fans to call out an ‘unfunny comedian’

Steve Harvey said he has to 'take responsibility' for the now-deleted tweet

A 'p***ed off' Steve Harvey has apologized for a now-deleted tweet posted from his X account, which asked fans to name an ‘unfunny comedian’.

The Family Feud host has suggested that he has fired the individual who sent out a 'totally negative' tweet on August 19, 2023.

It read: "A Comedian you don't find funny at all."

Take a look at Harvey's apology below:

Taking to X (Twitter) on Friday (August 25), the 66-year-old shared a video of himself in the woods alongside the caption: "I'm personally addressing this."

A visibly upset Harvey - who was wearing a fisherman's hat - said: "Alright, I got to take some time to address this here.

"I came down here to get away, get in some nature, do some fishing."

The TV presenter went on to blame an employee for putting out the tweet.

"Somebody works for me on my Twitter, put a statement out that was totally negative," Harvey continued.

"I gotta take responsibility for it because they work for me.

"But the engagement was talking about 'name a comedian, you'll think is funny'.

"Why would I do something like that? That don't even make no damn sense.

"My whole brand is to be motivational. And I'm gonna turn around say something like that.

"You don't know why these young people at in their career man, they could be coming up or anything.

"I'm all about positivity. I would have never done nothing like that.

"Damn I am so p***ed off right now, man. Come on, 'I was trying to get some engagement'.

"Okay. Okay, you try and get some employment too, my bad y'all.

"Now, I gotta come on here and doing a damn selfie.

"So here it is. I'm sorry, man. My bad y'all, won't happen again though."

Commenting on the post, fans couldn't help but see the funny side.

One replied: "Not even fun(ny) but he said “A DAM SELFIE” that took me out. He is natural born comedian. We love you Unk."

A second person joked: "Try to get some employment too."

While, another fan suggested: "Don’t fire them Steve, just hold them accountable and let it be a teaching tool.

"Especially, if they have never done anything like that before."

Someone else said: "Uncle Steve...your brand speaks for itself. You are a builder of people.

"And no employee or former employee can diminish that fact. Be blessed, Sir!"
