People confused by Bobbi Althoff's completely different interview style with Scarlett Johansson

Bobbi Althoff's interview with Scarlett Johansson has left people divided.

Bobbi Althoff's interview with Scarlett Johansson has left people divided.

The 26-year-old isn't just known as a TikTok personality, but also for developing her podcast The Really Good Podcast and interviewing the likes of Drake and Lil Yachty.

Althoff channels a similar vibe to Chicken Shop's Amelia Dimoldenberg, her interview style dry, deadpan and resulting in a stilted conversation with some uncomfortably long moments of silence.

However, some people are now comparing her most recent interview with Black Widow actor Scarlett Johansson.

In a clip from her interview with Johansson, Althoff goes through beauty products the actor uses.

She asks: "Do you use this stuff? That's it?"

"Yeah, that's all I use. Yeah. It's in that bag over there if you want to take anything else out of it. Feel free," Johansson replies.

The interviewer thanks the actor, before asking for a product which slicks back hair, pointing out Johansson has a bit of hair sticking out from her up-do.

When the actor notes how 'smooth' Althoff's hair is, the podcaster replies: "You know I had a hair person come and do mine. But I didn't know I could just use this."

She then applies the product to Johansson's hair, complimenting the effect as making her look 'perfect'.

Some people have taken to X - formerly known as Twitter - arguing there's a clear difference with how Althoff has approached this interview compared to others.

One user - who re-tweeted the clip from a Johansson fan page - said: "Landing an interview with a white woman and immediately dropping her entire gimmick and just being nice instead is so insane lmao."

"You could see Scar jo baiting her to do her shtick but she refused to budge on being obsequious towards her," another commented.

A third wrote: "I have watched multiple of her interviews & yes her demeanor is entirely different, that’s how micro aggressions work beloved."

And a fourth added: "So basically she used POC as a launching pad for fame. Creating something that people who feel awkward around people of color can relate to, and now that she's famous she doesn't care about being so strict about it. How abhorrent."

The interview has left people divided over Althoff's technique.

However, others are flocking to defend the podcast host.

An X user said: "People trying to make this girl racist is mad weird."

A second continued: "I can almost bet you’ve never actually watched her interviews other than the two minute clips of the ones she’s done with poc posted on Twitter by people who purposely try to manipulate content and leave out context because that’s how it makes them money.

"But if you actually go through her work on YouTube or any other platform she post on you’d see Her personality is consistent. It’s her aesthetic. It’s the gag/joke.

"She’s socially awkward and sarcastic towards all races .. it’s not giving racist. It’s just a lot of our first thought when we feel a white person isn’t being kind to us."

"She still in character to me idk i dont see a difference," a third commented.

And a fourth resolved: "She changed her whole persona so she can better adapt to her followers and the market. Her interviews with rappers and other music industry people are more entertaining because of the persona she put on. She changed it up with a movie actor who has a different sense of humor than most."
