Priscilla Presley has recalled a time when she became estranged from her daughter Lisa Marie.
Lisa Marie was the only daughter to Priscilla and the late, great Elvis Presley.
Elvis died in August 1977 at the age of 42, and his daughter sadly died young at the age of just 54 in January 2023.

The Presley family have undeniably faced numerous tragedies over the years in addition to Elvis and Lisa Marie's deaths, something which Priscilla, now 80, has written about in her upcoming memoir Softly, As I Leave You: Live After Elvis.
One thing she recalls is the extremely difficult decision to made to have Lisa Marie's life support switched off.
"I remember is the doctor talking to me. He asked me what I wanted him to do," Priscilla writes. "They had restarted Lisa’s heart, but there was no guarantee it would keep beating. I asked the doctor, 'What kind of life will she have if we keep her on that machine?'"

The doctor said her daughter would have 'no quality of life at all' therefore Priscilla decided to have them take Lisa Marie off the machine.
Elsewhere in the memoir, which hits shelves tomorrow (September 23), Priscilla shared the one thing her late daughter never forgave her for.
Lisa Marie was mom to four kids: Riley Keough, Benjamin Keough, Harper Vivienne Ann Lockwood, and Finley Aaron Love Lockwood.
Sadly Benjamin died in 2020 after taking his own life.

Lisa Marie shared her two youngest daughters with Michael Lockwood, whom she filed for divorce from in 2016. In their divorce battle, Lisa Marie attempted to get full custody of their daughters. She had accused her then-husband of sexual misconduct and child abuse.
His lawyer vehemently denied the claims and the court's investigation into the matter found no evidence of wrongdoing.
However, Lisa Marie tried to get her mom to sign a deposition that supported her allegations and that would deem her ex 'unfit to have custody of the girls'.
"I told her I couldn't sign it, for I had never seen Michael behave in the harmful ways she was alleging," Priscilla said. "Signing it would be perjury."

In Lisa Marie's eyes it was 'betrayal' that her mom didn't sign it for her, especially as her ex husband was awarded visitation rights.
Reflecting on her decision not to sign it, Priscilla said, as per USA Today: "With a stab to my heart that she would never completely forgive me. And she never did."
