Elvis Presley is still capturing hearts (and imaginations) decades after his death, and his ex-wife Priscilla has opened up about rumors around the star.
Whenever somebody famous dies, fans never want to believe that they have really gone.
Michael Jackson, Elvis and more have all been subject to the rumor mill churning out whether they're really dead.
Let's face it, having people asking you if your ex-husband is truly alive must be more than a little bit annoying after a while.

However, the conspiracy theories keep on rolling that Elvis is still alive and well, and claims that his death was faked in 1977 at the age of 42-years-old, in order to escape the pressures of fame.

Now, Priscilla has given an interview where she discusses the truth on the whereabouts of the musical icon, and it's not good news, we're afraid.
She told PEOPLE: “There’s been so much that’s untruthful out there — things like Elvis is still alive and hidden somewhere."

Sadly, she added: "I wish he was still alive," as do millions of other people.
Back in 2005, Priscilla told Entertainment Tonight: “I got a call. Instantly, I knew something was wrong. I couldn’t pinpoint it because Lisa was supposed to come home that day. After all, Elvis was going out on tour," she recalled.

“I raced home. I think I ran every red light there was trying to get to my house,” Priscilla continued.

"The phone was ringing. It kept ringing and ringing. It felt like one of those horror movies when you’re trying to get the key in the door, like your hands are shaking so badly you can’t find the hole to get the key into.”
It was Elvis’ road manager Joe Esposito: “I was praying that the phone didn’t stop ringing, and I get to the phone, and it’s Joe Esposito."
She said she would 'never forget' the call: "It was forever for him to tell me, and then he said, ‘It’s Elvis,' I knew right then and there that something horrible had happened," she explained.
"When he told me he was dead, it was like waking up from a nightmare, hoping to wake up and say, ‘This is a joke,'” she said.

Priscilla and Elvis were married from 1967 through 1973, after meeting in 1959 when Priscilla was just 14-years-old.
They went on to have one daughter together, Lisa Marie.
"I met him at such a young age I didn't have time to think about life yet," Priscilla says.

"Even when dating him, I'd think, 'What am I going to do? I don't want to be a nurse. I don't want to be a teacher. I don't want to be a secretary. What can do?' Other things happened, and I love every moment."
Priscilla has now written a book, called Softly, as I Leave You: Life After Elvis.
