We didn't need another reason to love Pedro Pascal - but he's given us one.

The actor initially found fame on Game of Thrones, and has since propelled himself into further stardom with roles in the likes of The Mandalorian, Narcos, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, and The Last of Us.

Based on the video game of the same name, Pascal stars as protagonist Joel in the TV series, with Bella Ramsey co-starring as Ellie.

Released last year, The Last of Us went down a storm with viewers and boasts a very impressive 96 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

Pascal has been up for a handful of awards for his portrayal of Joel, and last night (February 24) took home a SAG for Best Male Actor in a Drama Series.

Seeming genuinely surprised by his win, Pascal, 48, took to the stage and admitted he was a bit tipsy.

"This is wrong, for a number of reasons," he began his speech. "I'm a little drunk. I thought I could get drunk."

Pascal continued: "And thank you, HBO for... geez Louise, I'm making a fool of myself. But thank you so much for this!"

He went on to reel off another list of thank yous and became visibly emotional at his historic win.

Ending his speech in true Pascal style, he quipped: "I'm gonna have a panic attack and I'm gonna leave."

In light of his win, fans online have been applauding the 48-year-old and hailed him as well-deserving of the accolade.

One person wrote: "One of those celebrities who you’re glad to see make millions of dollars and get awards doing something he loves."

"When he said he was drunk I worried for what was gonna come next hahaha. I love him and i'm so happy he finally won an award!! Thank u SAG voters," another added.

"Pedro is a phenomenal Joel and he’s such a cool guy too like he deserves an award just for being him honestly," a third gushed.

A different person added: "Congratulations Pedro. Well deserved."

HBO

Within just weeks of The Last of Us' release in January 2023, it was confirmed that there will be a second series.

Executive producer Neil Druckmann, who was also the writer and creative director of the game, announced at the time: "I’m humbled, honored, and frankly overwhelmed that so many people have tuned in and connected with our retelling of Joel and Ellie’s journey.

"The collaboration with Craig Mazin, our incredible cast & crew, and HBO exceeded my already high expectations. Now we have the absolute pleasure of being able to do it again with season two! On behalf of everyone at Naughty Dog & PlayStation, thank you!"

It's reported that filming for the second season started earlier this month, with a release date expected sometime next year.
