Orlando Bloom has reportedly acknowledged the rumored relationship between his ex-fiancée Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau, Canada's former Prime Minister.
Representatives of Lord of the Rings actor Bloom, 48, and pop star Perry, 40, confirmed the pair’s split in June 2025, citing both parties were ‘shifting their relationship’ to coparenting their four-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove.
The former couple, who had met in 2016, according to reports, had an on-and-off courtship before eventually becoming engaged on Valentine’s Day 2019.
They never married, with recent reports claiming the ‘Teenage Dream’ singer has been spotted dining publicly with Trudeau, 53, various times in Montreal, The New York Times reported.

The ex-Liberal Party leader, who split from his wife Sophie Grégoire, 50, in 2023, has also been spotted watching Perry perform live on her ,Lifetimes Tour. A video from the concert was shared by Pop Crave.
Reports published in The Sun claimed that Perry wants to have ‘fun’ following her split from Bloom but that she is ‘very much grieving the end of their relationship’.
A source told the outlet that her friends ‘don’t want her to rush into something serious’, describing her relationship with the 23rd Prime Minister of Canada as a ‘very new flirty friendship’.
Father-of-two Bloom has reportedly acknowledged the romantic speculation surrounding his ex-partner and Trudeau by playfully responding to a satirical Instagram post shared by The Onion.
It claimed the Pirates of the Caribbean favorite had been spotted on a cozy night out with a former politician himself, this time ex-German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
“Just weeks after announcing his split with fiancée Katy Perry, English actor Orlando Bloom was photographed Friday dining with former German Chancellor Angela Merkel,” the caption read.
“Angela kept Orlando laughing all night; he couldn’t keep his eyes off her!”
The caption added that an insider source allegedly said the two ‘sipping wine, slurping oysters, and splitting a decadent piece of chocolate layer cake at a Michelin-starred restaurant.’
It was shared alongside an AI-generated image of Bloom and 71-year-old Merkel enjoying a candlelit dinner together.
Bloom posted three clapping emojis in response to the apparent shade of his ex-fiancée.
This subtle message has caused major commotion online. One Instagram user replied: “My unbothered king.”
A second typed: “You’re such a good sport.”
“Dunno, it might actually be Phil Dunphy,” said someone else, referring to the popular Modern Family character.
A fourth simply replied: “You’ve been onioned.”
