Lorde leaves fans stunned as she takes public transport like a regular person

Her supporters said she was so humble to ride on the subway.

Lorde is just your every day kind of person when she's not performing in front of sold out venues.

The Kiwi singer might be a household name around the world, but that doesn't mean she isn't afraid to mix with regular folk on the ground.

She could have easily booked a private cab, but she was comfortable and humble enough to ride on public transport.

The 26-year-old was seen sitting on a New York City subway carriage by herself trying to go from A to B.

An excited fan who was opposite her snapped a few pictures of the singer and posted them to social media.

They wrote: "I met Lorde yesterday and let her know that she wrote Melodrama for me specifically."

Fans could not believe how lucky the person was to be able to see Lorde in the wild as well as get a selfie with her.

"WHAT. What train is this omg," said one.

Another added: "THIS IS SO COOL OMGGG."

A third wrote: "That's awesome! She appears very humble!"

Loads of people asked what subway line this interaction was on so they might be able to catch her again.

But Lorde isn't the only celebrity who has been seen rubbing shoulders with everyone else on public transport.

Paul McCartney left everyone shocked when the Beatles rocker was sitting on a train by himself.

There was a time when he, John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr couldn't go anywhere without being mobbed by thousands of screaming fans.

Beatlemania meant there were few places on Earth where they could relax in peace.

But here he was just enjoying a lovely train ride.

The then-75-year-old boarded the Kings Cross to Hastings, East Sussex, train back in 2017 and took up a seat in first class.

Passengers said he passed the time by looking at his phone, which was an old-school Nokia, and reading the paper.

One onlooker said at the time: "He was on his own without any bodyguards or staff.

"Only a few people stopped to say hello and that it was nice to see him.

"He didn't want photos but he was very polite and happy to chat, taking about a new album he has coming out.

"It was unusual seeing such a massive music star just sat on his own."

Other celebrities who have been seen riding public transport include J Cole, Ed Sheeran, Matthew Broderick, Sarah Jessica Parker, Tom Hanks and even Mariah Carey.
