Now, Spears' ex Kevin Federline has spoken out following her arrest in a statement released by his attorney.
Federline's lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan shared the statement with TMZ on his behalf on March 6, as well as confirming that they had both spoken to Spears following her arrest.

The statement said: “Kevin hopes for the best for Britney. And if help is necessary, he hopes that she will neither resist it or those who are attempting to work with her.”
It concluded: “The concern is whether this is just a one off or a one more."
A representative for Spears has also released a statement following her arrest.
It said: “This was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable.
“Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law, and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life.
"Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time.”
The statement added: “Her boys are going to be spending time with her. Her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue, needed plan to set her up for success for well-being."

It comes after Federline, 47, released a memoir called You Thought You Knew, which made shocking claims about Spears.
The pair were married from 2004 to 2007, and have two sons together - Sean Preston, now 20, and 19-year-old Jayden James.
The book made explosive claims, including that Federline had once seen Spears watching her children sleep with a knife in her hand.
Responding to the claims in the book, Spears previously wrote: "The constant gaslighting from ex-husband is extremely hurtful and exhausting."
A spokesperson for Spears had also previously issued a statement to the New York Times, saying: "With news from Kevin’s book breaking, once again he and others are profiting off her and sadly it comes after child support has ended with Kevin. All she cares about are her kids, Sean Preston and Jayden James and their wellbeing during this sensationalism. She detailed her journey in her memoir."
