JoJo Siwa reveals truth behind relationship with Big Brother housemate Chris Hughes after dumping partner at after party

JoJo Siwa has spoken out about her relationship with her Celebrity Big Brother co-star Chris Hughes after the pair grew close during their time together on the British reality TV show.

Siwa and Hughes entered the Big Brother house together earlier this month, at which point Siwa was still in a relationship with her now-ex, Kath Ebbs.

During their time on the show, the two contestants were seen hugging and sharing a number of close moments, and Siwa also admitted to learning a lot about herself, including the realization that she was 'not a lesbian'.

While speaking to fellow contestant and RuPaul’s Drag Race UK winner Danny Beard, Siwa said: "I think I've always told myself I'm a lesbian. I think you...I think being here, I've realized I am not a lesbian, I’m queer. And I think that's really cool—I'm switching letters! I've dropped the L and I've gone to the Q, baby! That's what I love about sexuality."

In a new interview, Siwa also revealed that she realized she was 'not happy' with a number of aspects of her life, saying: "There were countless things that I was like, that’s not something that I should be OK with and I don’t need to be OK with and I’m not happy, and I knew as soon as I got out, I wanted to fix things in my life and make the changes that I needed to make."

Siwa and Ebbs broke up at the wrap party for Celebrity Big Brother, and in an appearance on the British chat show This Morning Siwa was asked whether her connection with Hughes was a 'catalyst' in her breakup with Ebbs.

While sat with both Siwa and Hughes, the host said: "There's clearly a very tight bond."

Siwa responded to confirm that the pair were 'obviously' close and 'tight', before Hughes went on to describe their relationship as a 'friendship'.

He said: "Our friendship is like, it's just a really strong bond between two people, just a strong friendship."

Hughes went on to claim the bond he shares with Siwa is like a 'soulmate friendship', adding: "It's not like the standard friendship that you have with your friends, but it's still a friendship."

Siwa agreed and laughed when asked if she would like the relationship to be 'romantic', saying: "He's a great guy, it is platonic, we have a lot of fun together. Life is life, I don't know any future of anything but I'm really grateful for our dynamic that we have and our bond that we have and whatever life does, life will do."
