Joe Jonas has lifted the lid on what it was like to be grilled about his sex life from a young age.
Joe is one third of pop group the Jonas Brothers which (as per the band's name) he is in alongside his siblings Nick and Kevin.
Away from their music one thing that caught people's attention at the time the trio first became famous was their so-called purity rings that are warn as a sign of chastity.
Because of these rings the Jonas' found themselves subjected to lots of questions about their religion as well as their sex lives.

Discussing this, Joe, Nick, and Kevin recently appeared on You star Penn Badgley's podcast, Podcrushed.
Joe, who finalized his divorce from Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner last year, shared: "Famously, we were known for like purity rings, which were something in the community of the church where that was like what everybody else in our age were doing around 10, 11 years old, like 'we’re going to wait for the right person'."

He went on to recall: "One person on an interview when you’re 15, 16 [years old] would ask you about it, and you’re like, 'I don’t want to talk about this' and then they’re like, 'Well, I’m going to write that you guys are in a cult'."

Penn proceeded to share some of his own experiences, but noted that he was a bit older than the Jonas Brothers when he became famous.
"I was like 17, and it was a big interview at this time, and I remember being asked about dating advice," the Netflix star said.
"I remember feeling so much pressure to sound coherent and mature and adult and sexy, and it's like, 'I don't have a single thing to say or add here'."
While Joe was understandably more reserved when he was a teenager, he's now more open about his private life and has even revealed the Hollywood star he threw out his purity ring for.
Sharing all on a Reddit 'Ask Me Anything' thread, Joe said, per PEOPLE: "I dated a girl named Ashley, so just Google it to figure out which Ashley that is."

The girl he was referring to was Twilight star Ashley Greene.
Not only did Joe name drop who he lost his V-plates to, he proceeded to share details of the night in question.
"It's quite the great story because I didn't have any condoms, so I went to our drummer, Jack's room, who was my roommate at the time and I demolished his room looking for them," wrote Joe.
"Found them underneath his underwear drawer. When he came home, he thought somebody broke into his room because his whole room was demolished because I was in dire need."
