Jennifer Lopez addresses fans' concerns over why Ben Affleck doesn't smile in pictures

Jennifer Lopez laughed as she addressed her husband's meme status on the internet.

Ben Affleck has been a recognizable face in Hollywood for decades at this point. He even reached a major internet milestone by becoming a meme in 2016.

You have probably seen the photo of him standing outside smoking a cigarette seemingly looking exhausted.

But fans have gone further and questioned whether the actor is happy and if he feels as defeated on the inside as he looks on the outside. Yeah, a bit melodramatic but that is the internet for you.

However, Affleck’s wife Jennifer Lopez has recently addressed the concern surrounding her husband.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet for the Golden Globes on January 8, the singer slash actress spoke directly to Affleck’s fans.

In a clip that was posted to ET’s TikTok page, she was asked: “Why are people always worried about what face Ben has on?”

Lopez began laughing and chimed in: “Ben is doing alright. You don’t need to worry about Ben. Let me just tell you he is good.

“He is happy, he is here, he is nominated. He’s like ‘i’m chilling, I don’t understand what people are pressed for’. He is alright. He is alright.

Social media users seemed to agree with Lopez and insisted he simply has RBF, also known as resting b**** face.

“Ben has resting misery face. Some of us just aren’t smiley people!,” wrote one TikTok user.

“My hubby has RBF and he gets so upset bc ppl think he’s always mad. He’s like chill I can’t help it,” added another.

“People saying they wanna hear it from him ? He’s already said on an interview this past year he knows he has rbf. And he’s happy and fine,” a user also commented.

“I, too, have Resting Ben Face and get caught in candid pics looking all sulky. But I'm not sulking! It's just my face! I swear,” another wrote.

So, all in all I reckon things are fine. Pictures from the night don’t quite show the actor smiling as such but you can see a little bit of a smirk.

While taking questions from other reporters at the event, Lopez also gave an insight to the couple’s relationship.

She was asked how she knows that her latest wedding, to Affleck in 2022, is her final wedding she gave a confident response.

She said: 'Because when they say, 'You know,' you know'.

"And other times when you didn't know… you also didn't know. I think you always go in with the best of intentions every single time that you ever leap into anything.”
