Lauren Sánchez shares surprising detail from wedding to Jeff Bezos after invite leak had everyone saying the same thing

Lauren Sánchez's wedding to Jeff Bezos featured a surprise that even the Amazon founder couldn't have predicted

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez have finally tired the knot in Venice, and Sánchez says one aspect of the ceremony was 'a departure from what people expect'.

When you’re marrying as Amazon’s founder, you’re going to get a few people interested - but the newlyweds probably didn’t expect to have the whole world watching and waiting for their nuptials.

Bezos and Sánchez have traveled Venice, Italy, to finally tie the knot on Friday (27 June) after announcing their engagement in 2023.

One of the things that had people talking in a negative way was the report that the wedding would cost the couple $56 million, and that a few famous faces would turn up in private jets that have allegedly put out more CO2 emissions than 27,000 cars do in one day of travel.

Orlando Bloom and Leonardo DiCaprio, as well as President Trump's daughter, Ivanka, and the Kardashians all turned up to the event of the year.

Anyway, Sánchez (now Sánchez Bezos) revealed a surprising detail that you might not know about when it comes to her wedding, and this comes right after people all asked the same question thanks to her leaked wedding invites.

Speaking during a Vogue interview which was published yesterday (27 June), Sánchez shared that there was something at the wedding that was going to be her first, which might surprise her hubby.

She explained that it’s all to do with her Dolce & Gabbana dress.

Known for her extravagant and plunging looks, Sánchez revealed that her wedding dress will be the first formal dress she’s ever worn that is particularly covered up around the chest area.

“It is a departure from what people expect,” she said, speaking before the ceremony. “From what I expect—but it’s very much me.”

When asked whether her husband will be surprised by her choice of dress, she agreed, admitting: “Yes. I think he will be pleasantly surprised. I think he’s going to be so happy. I mean, it’s so elegant, it’s timeless.”

But that’s not the only surprising thing that revolves around her dress, as she admitted that Bezos begged to see her dress before the wedding.

“I almost gave in!” she revealed. “But I want it to be a surprise. As you get a little older, not many things surprise you. I can’t wait to see his face.”

We’re sure his face was a picture.

Now that the happy day has finally arrived, the past negativity and controversy can be put behind the pair - namely, criticism over wedding details.

Venice locals were not happy with the pair hosting their event in their city, which led to plans having to reportedly be changed following threats about inflatable crocodiles being released into the canal.

According to the BBC, the ceremony was also planned to conclude at the Scuola Grande della Misericordia, but was changed to Arsenale.

As for their leaked invitations, people made fun of the cartoonish illustrations which featured birds and flowers and Venetian nods.

One person on Instagram commented: “All the money of the world and that’s your invitation card design? Bro you can get good ones on Amazon.”

Another joked: “This invite was proudly sponsored by Microsoft Paint and zero adult supervision.”

A third added: “All that money and they couldn’t hire a designer for that invitation?”

Another commented: “Seriously that's a wedding invitation of a billionaire? Who designed it and who approved it.. both have bad bad taste.”
