Emily Blunt has spoken about the reservations she had about starring in her husbands hit film in 2018 in a new interview.
Emily Blunt is a brilliant actress in her own right, so many fans were delighted when the news dropped that she was set to star in her husband's film way back in 2018.
Blunt's husband, John Krasinski’s 2018 alien horror film, A Quiet Place would go on to be a massive hit, receiving praise for Krasinski's directing as well as his role alongside Blunt as the two leads.
However, in a new interview in ELLE's 2025 Women In Hollywood Celebration issue, Blunt spoke about the initial fears she had with the film because of their marriage.

Speaking about a conversation she had with Krasinski, Blunt said: “Before we started, I was like, 'Look, I'm thrilled to be doing this with you, but do you know how to shoot this movie? Because I don't know how to shoot a movie. So I'm just asking,'

“He was laughing and he was like, 'I think I do know how to shoot it. I don't know why, but I think I do.' Then, my God, did he. And can you imagine if he thought I was really s***. That would not be good.”
Blunt’s fears do make sense because nothing can likely sour a lovely working marriage then frustrations connected to their work.
Thankfully, the film was both a box office and a critical success, currently holding an impressive 96 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes
Blunt went on to say: “I think if we had done that movie and we didn't respect or admire each other, it would've been an absolute disaster."
She also praised her husband for his efforts and said it was an overall 'wild' experience.
She added: “I don't think he knew what he was capable of.
“So it's sort of like watching someone discover a superpower, which was wild."

Ahead of the film’s release, Krasinski also spoke about his inspiration behind the film, as he was integral to the film’s success due to him directing, writing and acting in it.
According to a Badger Herald report, he said: “I had one bonus — which is I know what scares the hell out of me, and so every scene that I was writing I would get nervous in that moment and say it’s really dark.
“I’ll just write this because I would pass out if this happened in real life and turns out those things are actually scary.”
A fourth film in the franchise is set to be released in 2027, and is expected to continue the story of Blunt's character.
