Denise Richards has fiery response to Charlie Sheen after he claimed she cashed his $1,000,000 ‘joke’ check

There’s being generous, and then there’s being ‘joke’ generous, and Charlie Sheen has claimed his latter sentiment was taken as the former when it came to his ex-wife.

Sheen claimed in a recent interview that the mother of his children had cashed in a check worth $1,000,000 after it had been written out as a joke.

Sheen claimed that after a month, she cashed it in, and he was incredibly surprised by it.

The Two and a Half Men actor told the KFC Radio podcast that although he can’t remember exactly if he gave her the check during or after their marriage, he knew it was likely to have been a birthday gift.

But it was more symbolic than a literal cash present for his ex.

“I mean, I don’t think she’ll be too mad,” he began on his podcast, referring to ex Denise Richards.

“I wrote a check to Denise once for a million dollars on her birthday kind of as a joke, and she kept it not as a joke.”

He added: “And then, like a month later, f****** cashed it,” he added. “Which makes it sting more.”

Sheen, said if he was in the same position, he’d probably do the same thing, but he was miffed that ‘she couldn’t let me know just maybe the day of’.

He joked that she could have called him, where he could say: “Hey, you sound like you’re driving somewhere”, and she would reply: “Yeah, to the bank, actually!”

While he said he didn’t expect her to cash it, he was grateful it didn’t bounce.

Since his bombshell admission about Richards, who he married in 2002 before separating in 2005 when she was six months pregnant with their second child, she has hit back at his allegations.

Taking to Instagram, the actress and model tagged Sheen in her post as she showed a picture of the very same check, uncashed.

Using the song ‘Money’, by Pink Floyd, she wrote to her ex: “Found this during my recent move. I never cashed it, @CharlieSheen. Is it still good?!”

The check was written as December 24, 2011, five years after their divorce.

In 2020, Richards revealed what it was like to leave her husband while being heavily pregnant during an episode of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

She said: “When I got pregnant with Lola, things started to change rapidly. It was a very dark time and very toxic. And I filed for divorce when I was 6 months pregnant with her. I always did whatever I could to hide Charlie’s behavior.”

But now, they seem to be civil with each other amid her divorce from Aaron Phypers after six years together.

The actress alleged Phypers had inflicted physical and emotional abuse, and the pair are currently embroiled in a court case for those claims.
