Jessica Simpson reveals Ashton Kutcher’s wild response after telling him she was a virgin at 22

Jessica Simpson has recalled the moment that Ashton Kutcher learned she was still a virgin.

When she was 22 years old, Simpson was a guest star on That '70s Show where she played Kutcher's character's (Michael Kelso) love interest called Annette Berkardt.

Simpson, now 45, recently sat down with Entertainment Tonight and reminisced over her previous TV interviews over the years.

In one interview dating back to 2002, Simpson had just filmed with Kutcher.

"I was just shooting a scene with Ashton, 'Michael', and I was telling him that we couldn't do it because I was still a virgin," said a 22-year-old Simpson.

While she was referring to a specific scene on That '70s Show, Simpson genuinely was a virgin at the time.

"I'll never forgot telling Ashton I was a virgin [in real life]," the singer and actress said in a recently recorded interview. "He was like, 'why?'"

Simpson went on to explain that she said she hadn't met her husband yet at that age and that's why she'd abstained from sex.

"At this age I'm very innocent. I'm not thinking about other people and their sex lives at all, but I've always been open. Legs crossed, but open," she continued to reflect on the 2002 clip.

She had always been very candid about her virginity. In a 2000 interview, the 'Irresistible' singer told PEOPLE (via news.au.com): "My virginity is something I stand strong in. It’s not always easy, but I do respect it. Virginity can be cool and sexy."

The same year she shot the scenes with Kutcher, Simpson wed Nick Lachey. They first met in 1998.

Their relationship was propelled into the spotlight when their reality TV series Newlyweds aired in 2003. The show ran for three seasons before the couple split in 2005.

They said in a joint statement at the time: "After three years of marriage, and careful thought and consideration, we have decided to part ways.

"This is the mutual decision of two people with an enormous amount of respect and admiration for each other. We hope that you respect our privacy during this difficult time."

Simpson officially filed for divorce in December that year and it was finalized in July 2006, says PEOPLE.

Lachey went on to wed Vanessa Joy Minnillo in 2011, with the pair now hosting popular American dating show Love Is Blind on Netflix.

Meanwhile, Simpson married NFL star Eric Johnson in 2014. The couple separated earlier this year.
