An update has been issued on Daniel Stern, who caused a stir last year when the world learned that he had been charged for soliciting a prostitute.
The actor is most commonly recognized as playing Marv and being one half of the sticky/wet bandits in the first two Home Alone movies.
As he holds a special place in many people’s hearts for the role, reports that he was charged with soliciting a prostitute in Ventura Country in December last year came as quite a shock.
While he was not arrested or detained, according to the police documents obtained by TMZ, the actor was cited at the location and released.

Now, two months on, there has since been an update - the actor will avoid jail time as his first-time offense has been dropped.
A spokesperson for the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office spoke to Entertainment Weekly and issued a brief statement on the matter.

They said: “He completed his education class and earned a dismissal. This is our standard disposition for first-time prostitution offenses."
Stern’s attorney, Blair Berk, spoke told the California Post they were pleased with this outcome.
Berk said: “The case was dismissed with prejudice as it should have been from the start and we're very pleased."
Stern, who has left Hollywood, is said to now be more focused on being an artist and a farmer than acting.
While still occasionally appearing in TV shows, the 68 year-old is rarely seen in the public eye, and is instead living on a farm in California cattle ranching and growing fruit.
Stern has previously spoken about why he doesn't attend Home Alone anniversary events despite being a beloved fan favorite.

Speaking to PEOPLE, he said: "I don't leave my farm. It's no offense to the movie. I'm just ... a phone call, Zoom call, I'm in. But... I'm a bit of a homebody.
“I love knowing that everybody loves it, but like, actual people come at me and say, 'We love it'. It's a little overwhelming sometimes.”
Despite admitting to being overwhelmed, Stern has also said that at the time of shooting he knew the team had something special on their hands.
He added: “I did know that it was a gem of a movie. It was so funny, it was so true, and so I did know that. I was hopeful that we were making a great movie
"I had no idea obviously - no one could - of the longevity of its life."
