Kourtney Kardashian has been slammed online for her lavish Halloween party for being 'inappropriate'.

The Kardashian clan are well known for going over the top when it comes to throwing parties, and the spooky season is no different.

Ahead of the big day, Kourtney – who recently tied the knot with Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker – transformed their Calabasas mansion into a creepy immersive experience inspired by the new horror film Halloween Ends.

Footage shows how the couple decked out their pad with everything from themed drinks and goth candles to pools of fake blood and plastic dead bodies.

The clips were tagged with '@halloweenmovie' and '#halloweenends', and there was even a projector playing the film in their back garden.

Meanwhile, an actor dressed as the franchise’s masked serial killer Michael Myers wandered around scaring guests.

While there's no denying the 43-year-old went all out with her Halloween bash, some social media users have criticised her for going overboard.

Commenting on Reddit, one wrote: "As much as I love horror and scary things, this is a bit too realistic and violent for absolutely no reason... gives me bad vibes."

Another said: "I love Halloween and I try to be understanding of other people's point of view but it is so gross to use something like murdered women as a prop..."

Someone else added: "I feel like this is highly inappropriate even for adults."

Some people said the star went too far this year.

Others were more concerned with the movie link, with some accusing the star of throwing the event in the name of making money.

"The theme of Kourtney's Halloween party was Halloween Ends," wrote one. "Halloween Ends is a new movie, which is distributed by Universal Pictures. NBC Universal owns Hulu."

For those not in the know, Hulu is behind the reality show The Kardashians.

Replying to the above comment, another said: "They’re all like that. They don’t do anything without advertising something of theirs. It’s pretty ridiculous to me."

A third added: "Everything they do is an ad. That’s how they keep their money. Their trips are funded too. When Kim promotes a movie she is being paid to promote it."

Kourtney was dressed in an all-black outfit for the Halloween party.

While we're on the topic of the Kardashians' love for the macabre, Kim recently told her mum Kris Jenner that she’d like to make jewellery out of her body parts.

Kris opened up about Kim’s creepy idea when speaking to Kylie Jenner and her big sister Khloe after undergoing surgery on her hip.

Kris explained: “Kim asked the doctor to save her my bones so she could make jewellery out of it."

Who knows – maybe she intends to save them for a future Halloween party?
