Kevin Costner's wife demands nearly $250,000 per month in child support to keep up their 'accustomed lifestyle'

She has demanded Costner pay 100 per cent of the childrens’ tuition, extracurricular activities and healthcare on top of the dizzying sum.

Kevin Costner’s estranged wife has demanded $248K (AUD $369K) monthly for child support.

According to court documents obtained by People, the Dancing with Wolves actor's estranged wife Christine Baumgartner is demanding a hefty payment amid their contentious divorce.

Baumgartner, who shares three children with Costner, had her attorney make the financial request in the court filing.

The documents claim that the amount ‘is less than the amount needed to maintain the children in their accustomed lifestyle’.

The former handbag designer also demanded that Costner pay 100 per cent of the childrens’ tuition, extracurricular activities, and healthcare expenses.

The filing also revealed Costner’s 2022 income was listed at $195.1 million (AUD $290.8m), and their family’s expenses, not including taxes, were listed at $6.6 million (AUD $9.9m).

The net income for the family, after expenses and taxes, was $7.5 million (AUD $11.3m), which has afforded them regular trips to the Caribbean, Hawaii, and Aspen, along with caterers or chefs while entertaining guests.

The filing was made earlier today (June 23) at the Superior Court of California, County of Santa Barbara.

According to news.com.au, the actor’s lawyers claim that Baumgartner refuses to leave their $216 million (AUD $322m) beachfront complex in Carpinteria, California until he meets her ‘financial demands’.

They also allege she used his credit card to pay her legal fees without permission.

However, Baumgartner claims the Yellowstone actor is trying to ‘kick’ her and their three children out of their home.

UNILAD has reached out to both parties for comment.

In May, the actor confirmed the couple were splitting up after 18 years of marriage.

Costner’s representatives released the following statement to Fox News: "It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have transpired which have resulted in Mr. Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action,

"We ask that his, Christine's, and their children's privacy be respected as they navigate this difficult time."

It came after news broke that the 68-year-old said he would be leaving Yellowstone to focus on Horizon – a film he has co-written and will be directing.

However, there have been reports of an alleged feud between Costner and showrunner Taylor Sheridan, causing him to leave the series prematurely.

Sheridan told The Hollywood Reporter that he was ‘disappointed’ with his exit.

“It truncates the closure of his character. It doesn’t alter it, but it truncates it,” the creator said.
