Katy Perry has a reputation for wearing weird and wacky costumes on stage, but nothing prepared her fans for her latest get-up.
We’ve seen the pop star dress up as a juicy burger and a bottle of hand sanitiser and she even performs alongside a singing turd as part of her Las Vegas residency show Play
The 'Dark Horse' hit-maker shared a collection of new snaps on Instagram where she has over 183 million followers on Friday (16 December).

She posed in a full ginger root costume which had her ‘Katy Kat’ fanbase and health fanatics in a state of awe and shock.
The 38-year-old was clearly having the time of her life in the weird costume as she danced around and flashed a huge smile in both pictures.
The expertly crafted costume almost looks edible and even has stubs to make it appear like a real ginger root.

The post, which has garnered over 400,000 likes on the social media platform, was paired with the caption: “Picture of health.”
“Why are you like this,” one confused fan asked.
“MAMA WHHHHY UR SO CUTEE,” another person gushed.

An Instagram user hailed Perry 'Mother Ginger'.
While someone else quoted Perry’s own food-themed track and said: “Bon appétit baby.”
So, what’s the meaning behind Perry’s brand-new look? Well the second post in Perry’s upload is a close-up image of Bragg’s organic apple cider vinegar ginger turmeric shot.
The post was shared to remind people about the health benefits of ginger, which has powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

Bragg, which describes itself on its website as ‘America’s original health food company’ shared Perry’s hilarious and well-meaning post on its own Instagram page.
“Veggie fashion is the root of all things silly,” the company wrote in the caption.

It seems Perry’s inner circle were all in on the joke. The pop star’s stylist and costume designer, Johnny Wujek shared the ultimate compliment, writing: “The root of all things silly.”
The Grammy nominee’s fiancé Orlando Bloom quipped: “Now you’re just Bragg’in lol.”
Meanwhile, actress Joey King wrote: “This is so funny.”
Bragg’s Instagram account crowned Perry ‘the queen of veggie fashion’ and we can’t help but agree.

Back in October, the American Idol judge spoke out after she appeared to have trouble with her eyelid while on stage.
The ‘Smile’ singer was in the middle of a performance when it looked like one of her eyes started to malfunction.
The ‘eye glitch’ as it has come to be known in conspiracy theory circles online, was addressed by Perry in a cheeky Instagram response.
