Johnny Depp is ‘appalled’ by the rumors suggesting he’s dating 20-year-old Jenna Ortega.
Recent gossip online has speculated that the young star of Netflix’s Wednesday has been seeing the actor, 40 years her senior.
Celebrity gossip account Deuxmoi claimed the two were reportedly seen together.

A lot of users online suggested that maybe, more innocently, the actors are simply just working on Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice 2 together - although there were others who did believe they could be an item.
Ortega was plummeted into the spotlight following the release of the Netflix Addams Family spin-off series last year, after starting as a child actor playing young Jane in Jane the Virgin.
The star is also known for Scream VI, X and Yes Day.
Meanwhile, Depp is of course a 60-year-old actor, known for the likes of Pirates of the Caribbean, Edward Scissorhands, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Ortega herself recently slammed the ridiculous dating rumors - even denying she's met Depp.
She wrote on her Instagram Story: “This is so ridiculous I can’t even laugh.
“I have never met or worked with Johnny Depp in my life. Please stop spreading lies and leave us alone.”
And not long after, the Jack Sparrow actor’s reps dismissed the rumors.
According to NME, they said: “Mr. Depp has no personal or professional relationship with Ms. Ortega whatsoever. He has never met her or spoken to her.
“He is not involved in any project with her, nor does he intend to be. He is appalled by these baseless and malicious rumours that are intended to harm his reputation and career.”
So not only is that confirmation he isn’t dating the young actor, it seems Depp isn’t, apparently, going to be in the new Tim Burton movie.
It is, however, confirmed to star Ortega, alongside the likes of Catherine O’Hara, Winona Ryder, and Michael Keaton and is currently due to be release in 2024.
These dating rumors come after Ortega opened up about the impact social media trolls have had on her.
As part of Variety’s Actors-on-Actors series, the star spoke candidly to Elle Fanning about the toxicity of online trolling.
“Social media, what it does to anyone our age, it’s such a comparing game,” Ortega began.
“It influences bandwagon mentality. It’s very manipulative.”
She said that while she wants to channel her ‘deadpan’ humour online, she's caution of what she puts online because of online trolls.
Ortega added that the more famous she's become following the release of Wednesday, the more trolling she faces.
“They see your vulnerability and twist it in a way that you don’t always expect,” she said, breaking down in tears.
“It’s so strange. Sorry, I didn’t mean to do this.
“It’s such a hard thing to balance. Because how do you be honest without jeopardising your own health and safety? It’s very easy to feel almost out of control.”
