Drake left embarrassed as card gets declined while trying to gift a fan $500 during livestream

Drake and Lil Yachty went live on Kick, but a $500 transaction saw the rapper's card get declined

Drake’s credit card was declined while he was on a live stream after he tried to donate some money to a viewer.

You can see the unfortunate moment in the video below:

Drake obviously isn’t short of a few bucks, but he found the card that he was using on this occasion wanting, admitting that the incident was ‘embarrassing’.

It all started because the Canadian rapper was going live on a special Kick livestream this weekend, promoting cryptocurrency casino Stake.

He even brought out a celebrity mate, inviting fellow rap star Lil Yachty onto the screen, before asking Kick – the hosting platform – to team up with him for a business deal.

Drake said: “Yo, listen, I don’t know who owns Kick, but I know the chat wants to see Yachty go live.

“I’ve been telling him I feel like he can take over Kick.

“That’s just a little business idea for whoever owns Kick; they need to cut the check for my brother.”

Drake and Lil Yachty appeared together on the stream.

They might need to cut a check for Drake as well, by the looks of things.

He was attempting to send $500 – around £402 – to a streamer called Daisy who was live in the chat with them, but as he tried to gift her the cash the credit card that he was using was declined.

It was – as the rapper pointed out in a high-pitched voice – ‘embarrassing’.

The people near him said: “Yeah, what just happened?! Yeah, we’re just not even…”

Drake then confirmed that – of course – he wasn’t using his own personal card, rather one that had been given to him for this live stream.

The 'Hotline Bling' singer has been involved with Stake for a good while now, sharing some of the gigantic bets that he likes to put on huge sporting events.

Back in December, Drake seemingly lost $1,000,000 after a bet on the FIFA World Cup final between Argentina and France.

While he correctly picked Argentina as the champions, his bet wasn’t ready for extra-time and penalties between the two teams.

The card was unexpectedly declined, much to everyone's surprise.

So, he lost it all despite picking the winner successfully.

What’s more, he also lost around $400,000 on Jake Paul, after the loud-mouthed YouTuber was beaten by Tommy Fury in the boxing ring back in February.

Obviously, this all feeds into the narrative that Drake is cursed – look it up, it’s pretty well-documented.

He doesn’t lose all the time – in fact, he won $1.4 million on the Super Bowl last year - but those he backs have often been beaten.

Though despite all his losses, we reckon he's still good for $500.
