Mom of Nick Cannon’s baby Bre Tiesi explains why he may not have to pay child support

Bre Tiesi claims Nick Cannon may not have to fork out for child support payments

Selling Sunset star, Bre Tiesi, explains why Nick Cannon may not have to pay child support in the future due to his ample amount of children.

Speaking on the latest season of the reality television show, Tiesi claimed the father of her child - who is also a father to 10 more youngsters - may be allowed by the court to not fork out for the child support payments.

However, the star went on to allege that, while this could be a possibility, she reckons Cannon's wealth and celebrity status would mean the 'rule' may not apply to him.

The real estate agent alleged to her co-star, Amanza Smith: "The way it works is like, after 10, the court can basically say he can’t afford to pay child support."

And, given that Cannon currently has one child over that threshold - Tiesi seems to be under the impression that Cannon could claim he 'couldn't afford' the payments.

She did imply, however, that her baby daddy is wealthy and is not exactly strapped for cash so that particular 'rule' may not actually be applied to him.

Cannon’s net worth is a reported $100 million but he currently has 11 children with six different women.

The star added: "Because he is who he is, they could say, 'We know you can afford X amount for each household'."

But, it seems that legal experts based in California, where Tiesi lives, have a different idea about the situation.

Tiesi says the child support 'rule' may not apply to Cannon.

They argue online that parents are responsible for funding each of their kids, but they also outline that the amount in question may decrease depending on how many children in total are born after.

The Paula D. Kleinman law corporation explains: "For those supporting multiple children, these payments could completely take over their income, so the state ensures that non-custodial parents still support their children without breaking the bank."

Neama Rahmani, Tiesi’s attorney, has since disputed her claim, per Page Six.

According to the outlet, Rahmani explained: "California law does not limit child support payments based on the number of children a parent has.

"Child support payments are based on a number of factors, including the parents’ income, the cost of child care, and the amount of time the child spends with each parent. It does not consider the number of children a parent has, so it doesn’t matter whether Nick or any other father has one child or twelve."

Legal experts have explained the child support situation.

Cannon welcomed his eighth child with Tiesi last year (25 July), and made headlines with the unique choice of name, 'Legendary Love Cannon'.

Tiesi has since told fans she 'takes care of herself' and has no legal agreement with Cannon.

"If my son needs something or we need something, I can ask, that’s all I have to do,” she said in episode seven.

"I know he’s a good dad and Nick is not my sugar daddy."

Season six of Selling Sunset is now available to stream on Netflix.
