Bradley Cooper still lives with his mom for a heartwarming reason

Bradley Cooper's mom lived with him for a large part of his adult life

Bradley Cooper had his mother move in and live with him for an incredibly heartwarming reason.

The A Star is Born actor believes that they still 'need each other' following the death of his father, resulting in him spending a large chunk of his adult life living with his mom in the same house.

Back in 2011, Cooper moved into his parents' house and went on an acting hiatus to spend more time with his father, Charles Cooper, who was diagnosed with lung cancer.

He wanted to surround him with his love and attention, and did 'everything in his power' to save his father's life.

Unfortunately, Cooper's father lost his long battle with cancer back in 2011 - just five months after the actor moved in.

His father's demise was a severe blow to his mom, Gloria Campano, who shared a strong marriage bond with her significant partner.

Since Cooper has always been very close to his family, he offered his mother to move to his home in Los Angeles.

He said in an interview with the LA Times back in 2013: "And right now, two years after my father’s death, this is where we are. My family is very close, and my dad dying was brutal for all of us. It was a schism, and its aftershock has not stopped.

"And we need each other. So here we are. But don’t get me wrong. It’s not without complications. It’s not like I live in a compound and she’s in the guesthouse. No. She’s in the next room."

He added: "But here’s the thing: She’s a cool chick. We can hang, and she can roll with the punches. If that wasn’t the case, there’s no way."

Campano also lived with her son during the strict Covid-19 lockdown in 2020, along with his daughter Lea and his two dogs.

Cooper said that he didn't leave the house to ensure his mother's safety, who was suffering from a condition that made her especially vulnerable to the virus.

It is believed the pair still live together, and it's clear the mother-son duo have an incredibly close relationship.

For instance, Cooper has been known to invite Campano to be his date at different red carpet events, with them attending the Acadamy Awards ceremony together last year in 2022.

And more recently, Campano took hilarious jibes at her son who work pink t-shirt in a 2023 Super Bowl T-mobile commercial.

“Yeah I don’t like the way you look,” she joked while staring directly at her son’s bright pink T-Mobile employee shirt. “You look like a flamingo.”

“I think I know what I’m, doing,” he declares while trying to sell the phone. “I’ve been nominated nine times.”

“Yeah but you’ve never won anything,” his mom swipes back, referencing his nine Oscar nominations without a single win.

Cooper will once again provide the voice for Rocket Raccoon in the 2023 film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. He will also direct, produce, co-write and star in Maestro - a Leonard Bernstein biopic for Netflix.

Cooper is also set to reunite with Lady Gaga by producing the sequel to the 2019 blockbuster Joker, which will be titled Joker: Folie à Deux and will see Gaga star as Harley Quinn.
