Beyoncé has thanked the queer community for their part in her incredible run at the 65th Grammy Awards.

When she got on stage to accept the award for Best Dance/Electronic Album, the gong that pushed her onto the throne with 32 awards, she was struggling to hold back tears.

“I’m trying not to be too emotional," she told the roaring crowd.

"I’m trying to just receive this night. I wanna thank God for protecting me.

"I’d like to thank my beautiful husband, my beautiful three children who are at home watching.

"I’d like to thank the queer community for your love and for inventing the genre.
