Beyoncé has become the most Grammy-awarded artist in history

The singer has now officially overtaken composer Georg Solti

Beyoncé has become the most Grammy-awarded artist in history.

They don't call her the Queen for nothing.

The legendary singer already had the title of the most amount of nominations with 88 (which is a title she shares with her husband Jay-Z).

She knew she needed to win four gongs when she walked into the 65th Grammy Awards tonight (February 5) to put her name down in the history books.

Three Grammys would have placed Beyoncé next to Georg Solti with 31. However, a fourth would have put her on the throne at the top.

Before the ceremony even began, she took home two Grammys for Best Traditional R&B Performance ('Plastic Off The Sofa') and Best Dance/Electronic Recording ('Break My Soul').

Beyoncé's Renaissance has been nominated for Album of the Year, while the smash hit single 'Break My Soul' was recognised for Song of the Year and Record of the Year.

She's also been nominated for for three other tracks in the R&B categories, one for her Oscar-nominated song 'Be Alive', and two in the dance category.

Ahead of this year's Grammy Awards, Recording Academy president Harvey Mason Jr. told The Hollywood Reporter: "Seeing Beyoncé with that amount of nominations — it just blows me away. It’s a testament to who she is, the talent she has (and) the iconic music she’s put out over the years.

“To think about that power couple, holy mackerel.

“I added it up: It’s 176 nominations between the two of them.

"Can you imagine them sitting at the show together? If one of them wins, the other one’s going to be like, ‘I got to win. I got to get another one.’ It’s going to be fun to watch.”

As the glitzy ceremony got underway at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, all eyes were on the categories that Beyoncé was nominated in to see which award would see her make history.

It ended up being Best R&B Song for 'Cuff It' as well as Best Electronic/Dance Album for Renaissance.

She wrote on Instagram ahead of winning her fourth Grammy, saying: "To my Hive, thank y’all so much for all of your love and loyalty! Big thank you for the BREAK MY SOUL and CUFF IT wins!!! To The Dream, Tricky, HOV, and Big Freedia. I love y’all!

"Syd, I’ve always been such a fan of yours. Thank you.

"Nova Wav, Morten Ristorp, Raphael Saadiq, and Nile Rodgers, thank you for pouring into CUFF IT.

"Big thanks to Sabrina Claudio, Nick Green and Patrick Paige II. PLASTIC OFF THE SOFA is my favorite song on RENAISSANCE most days. It’s hard to pick though. Haaa.

"It feels great to be honored for the vocal performance. Thank you to all the talented vocalists who killed those beautiful TikTok renditions!

"I feel very grateful and filled with joy!"
