Long before iPhones were in everyone's pockets and the internet only worked when your mum wasn't using the home phone, Nokia was the must have device.

Although everyone's now essentially got a mini computer in their back pockets, the Nokia 3310 is still revered online thanks to its durability.

Countless memes, jokes and videos have attested to their lengthy battery life and indestructible design.

One YouTuber named Alexander Kryukov, aka Kreosan, decided to put this to the test by charging a Nokia 3310 with a whopping one million volts of electricity.

Now, we should point out that Alex is an expert in this stuff, exploring science in a fun and informative way on his channel – so don't go trying this yourself at home.

And anyway, he's done the hard work for us, charging the vintage device with a more modern 10-core smartphone to see how they compare.

As you can see in the footage, the YouTuber has set up a one million volt generator to test the products, saying it's going to be a 'battle between a modern smartphone and the legend of Nokia'.

Kicking off with the Nokia, he starts the power on low before increasing it gradually.

As the voltage goes up, the phone takes on a life of its own, switching on and off before dialling a load of random keys as blue lightning bolts emit from the sides.

After the supercharge, Alex checks the 3310 and, amazingly, it still works. Is there anything this model can't endure?

This was a technology battle like no other.

Next up, it was time to put the smartphone to the test. Similarly to its opponent, the device starts randomly opening and closing apps and pages.

But in the end the phone just couldn't stand the heat – one million volts of electricity rendered it useless after suffering a sensor failure.

One again, the Nokia 3310 wins – are we all that surprised?

Hundreds of people took to the comments section to celebrate the device's victory, with one writing: "The legend of the strongest phone that ever lived... THE LEGEND OF NOKIA!"

"I’m surprised the Nokia 3310 didn’t break the electricity," quipped another, while a third joked, "This must be a fake. How the hell did that generator survive the 3310?!"

There's no contest when it comes to the Nokia 3310.

A fourth added: "Dang, I guess those old Nokias are indestructible after all. Was not expecting it to survive that."

It's safe to say the Nokia 3310 maintains its legend status thanks to its durability, long battery life and let's not forget Snake – the best phone game in tech history.
