Joe Rogan has shared his concerns over news of mysterious drones spotted over the US as one expert shared his thoughts on the sightings.

John Ferguson, the CEO of Kansas-based drone manufacturer Saxon Aerospace, has become the latest expert to weigh in on the matter after reports of multiple drone sightings began in the United States.

Where have the drones been seen?

The sightings began almost a month ago, when drones were seen hovering over Morris County, New Jersey, on November 18.

Since then, drone sightings have been reported in at least seven more states: New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Virginia, California and Ohio.

What have authorities said about the drones?

The Federal Aviation Administration is aware of the sightings, and in a statement shared on December 14 it said its role is to 'ensure drones operate safely within the broader National Airspace System'.

The FAA also acknowledged reported drone sightings at NY Stewart International Airport which slowed air traffic, however, it assured there were 'no safety impacts' to aircrafts.

New York State Police are among many state authorities who have also commented on the sightings, and on December 13 they said they had received 'numerous reports of drone sightings over the past 24 hours'.

However, the state police added: “We have no evidence at this time that any of the reported sightings pose a public safety threat.”

What are experts saying about the drones?

As the sightings continue to go unexplained, Ferguson took to TikTok to share a nine-minute video offering his 'assessment' of the drones.

He described speaking a few months ago with someone who was 'trying to raise an alarm to the highest levels' of the government, allegedly to warn them of 'one particular nuclear warhead' that was 'headed towards the United States'.

"Nobody knows where it's at now," Ferguson claimed. However, he assured viewers that he did not believe whoever is behind the drones has a 'nefarious intent'.

Linking this backstory to the drones specifically, Ferguson went on to explain that drones have 'no reason to be in the air at night' unless they are being used for some type of surveillance or reconnaissance work.

"They don't see sh*t," Ferguson said, before going on to share his theory.

He continued: "My own guess is that these drones are not nefarious in intent. If they are, they are, but I doubt it. But if they are drones, the only reason why they would be flying, and flying that low, is because they're trying to smell something on the ground."

Ferguson explained that the drones could be searching for gas leaks or radiation, but whatever they are potentially searching for, Ferguson expressed belief it was 'very important'.

As for where they are coming from, Ferguson said: "These drones I believe are launched from a location that nobody knows, but I do believe they're flying low enough that they're just trying to sniff the ground and try to find something."

"This is a serious deal," he said.

What has Joe Rogan said about the drones?

The podcast host weighed in on the subject after coming across Ferguson's video, and admitted it was the first news he'd seen on the drones that had 'concerned' him.

Rogan shared Ferguson's video on Twitter to his 14.4 million followers, and wrote: "This is the first video about these drones that has got me genuinely concerned."

Though Rogan has stated his fears, both the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security have expressed belief that most of the drone sightings are actually cases of 'mistaken identity' involving small manned aircrafts.
