Joe Rogan sparks backlash after revealing why the news is keeping him up at night

"Is it too much news or the realization that he helped create all of this and got played?"

Joe Rogan has opened up about feeling 'overwhelmed' from reading 'too much news' late at night and it's sparked outrage among some social media users.

In the latest episode of his podcast, Joe Rogan sat down with comedian, writer, actor and fellow podcast host, Matt McCusker.

The pair dove into the latest news stories, including reflecting on all the products which have been emerging as allegedly containing chemicals which can increase people's risk of developing cancer. Rogan also admitted he's been finding it hard to get to sleep these days as a result of the never-ending stream of negative news.

And it's not just AI-clips on Instagram of talking foods warning you about their impact on your body which are 'scary' and prompting Rogan to 'stay offline'.

The podcast host continued: "I’m reading too much of the news and it’s overwhelming me. Sometimes at night-time I can’t wind down. There’s too much news."

He then detailed a few particular news stories which have been troubling him.

Rogan said: "There’s too much f**king madness. We’re about to go to war with Iran, everyone’s eating beef jerky and pizza. What are these files? What the f**k is pizza?

"How far does this go? How come this never got released before? Like, what is happening?"

While relatable to many, there's a reason Rogan's comments have sparked considerable backlash.

In November 2024, the podcast host publicly endorsed Trump off the back of another of his podcast episodes which saw him interview on-off Trump ally, Elon Musk.

Sharing the podcast episode to X, Rogan wrote: "The great and powerful @elonmusk. If it wasn't for him we'd be fucked. He makes what I think is the most compelling case for Trump you'll hear, and I agree with him every step of the way.

"For the record, yes, that's an endorsement of Trump. Enjoy the podcast."

And given Trump is a fairly pivotal figure in the country's upcoming round of nuclear talks with Iran, alongside his name appearing thousands of time in the latest release of the files of convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, well, it's not taken long for people to point out the irony of Rogan's lamenting.

"@joerogan Suck it up. This is what you endorsed, & voted for. You helped get this monster & his minions elected. Actions have consequences. Cry about it to someone who gives a s**t. In the meantime, grow some & disavow him publicly, use your money & platform to make a change," another added.

A third questioned: "Is it too much news or the realization that he helped create all of this and got played?"
