Apple's next iPhone has been 'leaked' with experts revealing major changes to new model

With 10 months still to go before its release, there are some early indicators of what we could expect from the iPhone 17

We've still got almost an entire year to go before the iPhone 17 is released, but details of the new model have already reportedly leaked.

Down the line we've grown familiar with iPhones, there will be people reading this who have only known life with an Apple phone - unlike some of us dinosaurs who'll remember the Blackberry days... my first phone was actually Sony Ericsson back in 2006.

We know how they feel, how they operate and we also know the tech giant is prepared to make drastic changes in its bid to create the perfect phone... so let's get into the new 'leaked' changes that experts claim the new model will don.

I'm currently rocking an iPhone 13 and until now I've never really thought anything of its weight, but over in Silicon Valley, California, the brains behind Apple obviously believe the device could be lighter as Apple analyst Mark Gurman has claimed there will be an 'iPhone 17 Air'.

The Bloomberg reporter explained in his Power One newsletter as per Phone Arena: "Apple will go with a slimmed-down iPhone, aiming to replicate its success with the MacBook Air.

"That computer is a mid-tier offering at a great price, for people who don’t need the most impressive specifications. But I’m not sure this strategy will translate from laptops to phones. I predict the 'iPhone Air' will suffer the same fate as the mini and Plus lines.

"In my opinion, the only alternative iPhone that will sell well is a foldable model."

It comes after earlier 'leaks' suggested the 'iPhone 17 Air' would have a 6.6-inch display while only being 6mm thick... I'm not sure about you, but I'd be nervous about accidentally snapping it let-alone dropping it.

I'm sure some phone case companies will profit on sturdy unbendable designs that will do the opposite of what the phone hopes to be and actually weigh more than it.

Anyway, its thickness would mean that it would be roughly three quarters the width of an iPhone 16.

Gurman did suggest the tech giant could go possibly copy that of Samsung and create a foldable phone - there's the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, both of which are classy phones.

Whether they decide to throw the design out and start again I'm not too sure, but they could go down that avenue.

If this mythical iPhone 17 Air is created then there are rumors that suggest there would be a major downgrade for the iPhone 16 Pro Max's three cameras with the 'Air' only including a 24-megapixel camera on the front and only one 48-megapixel camera on the rear.
