A woman was murdered by her ex-husband in front of their child while he live streamed her killing on Instagram.

Bosnian bodybuilder Nermin Sulejmanović was live streaming on Instagram on Friday (11 August) in footage that showed him picking up a gun and, according to translations from local media, telling viewers they were going to see 'a live murder' in the town of Gradačac, in northeast Bosnia.

The footage, which has since been removed from Instagram, showed his former wife beaten and badly injured while a child could be heard crying in the background.

He accused her of reporting him to police and asked her why she did it, with the woman struggling to speak due to her injuries telling him she did so because she was afraid for herself and her child.

They reported that Sulejmanović then said 'watch the murder live now, nice and easy' before asking the camera 'are you watching' and then firing one shot into Nevzeta Hećimović's head, killing her.

He livestreamed carrying out a murder on Instagram and killed two others before shooting himself.

Sulejmanović then turned the camera onto a crying toddler on the floor and said: "Here, someone come and save the child. Moving on."

He then fled the scene of the murder and went on to kill two more people as well as wounding three others - including a police officer - before shooting himself after being cornered by police.

Tuzla police said in a statement that a suspect had 'committed suicide after being located and before being apprehended'.

A statement from Tuzla County MUP before police located Sulejmanović read: "In Gradačac, a male person used a firearm, during which, according to initial information, several people were injured. The person is being intensively searched for.

"The cantonal prosecutor has been informed about the incident. Police officers are on the spot and are taking the necessary measures and actions. The teams of the police unit for special support were sent to the field."

Officials said the murderer killed three people he 'had some kind of relationship' with.

Vice reports that the Bosnian made another video just before being cornered by police where he said the three killings were 'not my first murders'.

They also reported that Sulejmanović was already known to the police and had been arrested previously for drug trafficking, assault and use of a weapon and had spent time in prison.

As per local media, the Minister of Internal Affairs in Tuzla Canton Hajrudin Mehanović said in a statement: "It is not about random, but planned murders of persons with whom the killer had some kind of relationship.

"The woman he killed had a child with him, and two men had certain relationships with him."

Prime Minister of the Bosnian Federation Nermin Niksic said: "I have no words to describe what happened today in Gradačac. The murderer took his own life in the end, but no one can bring back the lives of the victims."
