Authorities have confirmed that the husband of a Miss Switzerland finalist has been charged with her murder following a lengthy criminal investigation.
Kristina Joksimovic was a top Switzerland model at the age of 38 when she was found dead at her home in February last year.
Joksimovic lived in Binningen, a municipality just to the south of Basel, to the north of Switzerland, by the French and German borders and was found dead on February 13 by her father.

This death sparked a criminal investigation and her husband, only named as Thomas by local media, was arrested and considered the main suspect.
At the time, authorities claimed that Thomas strangled Kristina before dismembering her body up into small pieces and blending them.

According to an autopsy report, seen by the Mail Online, the victim’s husband allegedly butchered her with a jigsaw knife and garden shears. He also allegedly removed her womb, the only organ cut from her torso, before placing body parts into an industrial blender and pureeing them, as well as dissolving some of her in a chemical solution.
The outlet also claimed, investigators found that the suspect allegedly watched videos on YouTube while performing this gruesome act.
Over a year later and the Basel-Landschaft Public Prosecutor’s Office has confirmed that her husband, Thomas, 43, has now been hit with murder charges as they have concluded their investigation.
In a press release it stated: “The Basel-Landschaft Public Prosecutor's Office has concluded its criminal investigation into the suspected homicide in Binningen on February 13, 2024.
“Based on the results of the criminal investigation, the Basel-Landschaft public prosecutor's office assumes that the accused murdered his wife (age at the time of the crime: 38 years, nationality: Swiss) in their shared residence in Binningen.
“The public prosecutor's office is not releasing any further details regarding the circumstances of the crime.”
Regarding the initial investigation, family members have spoken out saying they grew worried after the nursery of the victim's children got in touch with Joksimovic’s parents to say they had not heard from her.

Concerned, her parents traveled to the home Joksimovic but only found Thomas there.
According to the parents, he had told them he didn’t know where Joksimovic was.
One of Joksimovic's friends told the MailOnline: “For hours, he pretended as if nothing was wrong, chatting to her father and making dinner for everyone before tucking the children into their beds.”
The father, unsatisfied with the answer he was given, began to look around the house, eventually finding Joksimovic head in a bin bag.
The friend added: “When he opened the black bin bag, he saw her cut off head with the hair still attached.”
Allegedly after making the discovery, the father left the property screaming and asked a passerby to contact the police.
Thomas now remains in police custody and a trial date has not been set.
Authorities emphasized that the accused should be presumed innocent until proven guilty in its press release.
