Casandra 'Cassie' Ventura has revealed on the stand how much Sean 'Diddy' Combs paid her to settle her 2023 lawsuit against him and why she took the money.
After being indicted by a grand jury and arrested in September last year, Sean Combs is currently on trial after being charged with racketeering conspiracy, two charges of sex trafficking and two charges of transportation to engage in prostitution - the rapper having denied all charges.

The 55-year-old's trial began on May 12 and has seen multiple people called to the stand, including R&B singer and dancer Cassie - real name Casandra Ventura - a former partner of Combs.
Ventura came forward in November 2023, filing a sexual abuse lawsuit in Federal District Court in Manhattan alleging Combs 'frequently beat' and also raped her in 2018 - which Combs 'vehemently denied' at the time.
And around 24 hours later, it was revealed Ventura and Combs had reached a settlement.
The lawsuit alleged Combs is a 'serial domestic abuser, who would regularly beat and kick Ms Ventura, leaving black eyes, bruises, and blood,' 'pl[ying] the vulnerable Ms Ventura with drugs and alcohol, causing her to fall into dangerous addictions that controlled her life' - first beginning when he signed her to his record label.

Ventura said in a statement at the time she was 'finally ready' to tell her 'story' and 'speak up about the trauma [she had] experienced and that [she] will be recovering from for the rest of [her] life'.
Combs' lawyer slammed the allegations as 'baseless and outrageous' and accused Ventura of trying to extort the rapper, claiming Ventura had 'persistent[ly]' been 'demanding' $30 million 'under the threat of writing a damaging book about their relationship, which was unequivocally rejected as blatant blackmail,' Combs' lawyer, Ben Brafman, told UNILAD.
Ventura's lawyer, Doug Wigdor, responded claiming Combs offered the singer 'eight figures to silence her and prevent the filing of this lawsuit' and Ventura allegedly 'rejected his efforts and decided to give a voice to all woman who suffer in silence'.
However, on her second day on the stand amid Combs' sex trafficking trial on May 14, Ventura revealed she ultimately accepted a settlement payment from Combs of a staggering $20 million, alongside dismissing the legal action - and she also reflected why.

Ventura confirmed she had been in talks to write a book about her experiences at the time she filed the lawsuit.
She said on the stand, as quoted by The Washington Post: "I wanted to be compensated for the time and the pain and the many, many years of having to try to fix my life."
And why she's taking the stand in court now? "To do the right thing."

Reflecting on her part in the alleged freak-off parties Combs held which saw her - and reportedly others - abused, she resolved: "I can’t carry the shame, the guilt. I was guided to treat people like they were disposable."
UNILAD has contacted representatives of Sean Combs for comment.
