More than 100 previously unseen videos linked to the Gypsy Rose Blanchard murder case have been released, reigniting interest in one of the most disturbing true crime stories in recent US history.
The footage was obtained through a new freedom of information (FOI) request and released on YouTube by the Into the Weeds podcast, nearly a decade after Clauddine 'Dee Dee' Blanchard was stabbed to death in her Missouri home.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in 2016 for her role in convincing her then-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, to kill her mom. But after serving just seven years in prison, she was released in December 2023.
Godejohn, who carried out the killing, was convicted of first-degree murder and is serving a life sentence.

Despite Gypsy Rose's release and the fact that she has since become a mom, public interest in the case has shown no signs of slowing.
Experts have long described it as a 'disturbing and complex narrative where the lines between victim and perpetrator are blurred', particularly due to the years of abuse Gypsy Rose endured.
Dee Dee had convinced doctors, charities and the public that her daughter was severely ill, subjecting her to unnecessary medication and medical procedures.
Prosecutors later acknowledged the abuse when offering Gypsy Rose a plea deal.
"When you look at this case, it’s a murder. And it’s a first-degree murder," prosecutor Dan Patterson said. "But it’s also one of the most extraordinary and unusual cases we have seen."
The newly released videos reportedly show intimate messages exchanged between Gypsy Rose and Godejohn during their online relationship.
In one clip, Gypsy Rose appears wearing a red dress and curly brown wig, speaking about 'fantasies' in which Godejohn is a vampire and discussing marriage.

In another moment, she can be seen saying: "The plan for if we have a boy first, we’re going to protect him and our children from the outside world, because they can’t know about you being a vampire."
According to the video, she then adds: "If we have a girl, the way it has to be, she has to lose her virginity to you because you are the master of the household."
Other clips seem to show Gypsy Rose playing different characters in wigs, reportedly filmed inside the same house where Dee Dee was later killed.
Not all videos were released, with officials citing the 'nonconsensual dissemination of private sexual images' as the reason some footage remains sealed.
The documents reportedly cost $786 to access, following a lengthy FOI process with Missouri officials.
