Police bodycam footage shows now-jailed Rust armorer saying she 'just f***ed' career moments after shooting

Armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed was jailed for 18 months after being convicted of involuntary manslaughter

Police body cam footage shows the moment that Rust armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed was arrested.

The movie armorer was arrested following the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

Hutchins died from a gunshot after a prop gun unexpectedly fired a live round on the set of Rust.

Gutierrez-Reed was later jailed for 18 months after being convicted of involuntary manslaughter.

Actor Alec Baldwin has also been indicted on a charge of involuntary manslaughter over the incident, legal proceedings relating to Baldwin are ongoing.

Police bodycam footage shows Gutierrez-Reed speaking to officers shortly after the gun went off, killing Hutchins.

She can be heard telling the officers that “I just f***ed up my whole entire career.”

The footage shows Gutierrez-Reed in the back of a police car before being escorted to the bathroom by a female police officer.

At the beginning of the footage, Gutierrez-Reed is showed dressed in a plaid shirt and khaki trousers, and answers questions about her employment.

Asked: “What’s your place of employment?” She replied: “Here”.

The officer then asked: “What’s your job?” To which Gutierrez-Reed replied: “I’m the armourer, or at least I was.”

Gutierrez-Reed had been in charge of handling weapons and ammunition on the movie set.

She is then escorted to the bathroom by an officer.

In the bathroom she can be heard to say: “Welcome to the worst day of my life”, adding: “I can’t believe Alec Baldwin was holding the gun, that’s so f***ed.”

She went on to say: “I just want to get the f**k out of here and never show my face in this industry again.

“I'm the only female armourer in the game and I just f***ed up my whole entire career." Gutierrez-Reed later refers to herself as a 'f***ing failure.'

Gutierrez-Reed was later convicted of involuntary manslaughter and sentenced to 18 months in prison.

Sentencing, Santa Fe judge Mary Sommer said: “I find that what you did constitutes a serious violent offence, it was committed in a physically violent manner.

"A fatal gunshot done with your recklessness in the face of knowledge that your acts were reasonably likely to result in serious harm.

“You were the armourer, the one that stood between a safe weapon and a weapon that could kill someone.

"[...] You alone turned a safe weapon into a lethal weapon. But for you, Ms. Hutchins would be alive, a husband would have his partner, and a little boy would have his mother."
