Two of Rob and Michele Reiner's children have shared a statement with the public in the wake of their parents' killing and their brother's arrest.
Jake and Romy Reiner had not yet spoken publicly following the tragedy that unfolded on Sunday (December 14) at their parents' home in Brentwood, California.
Their statement dropped just hours after their brother Nick appeared in court in connection with their murder, where he said three words to the judge - 'Yes, your honor.'
Shared with People, Jake and Romy's heartbroken statement reads: "Words cannot even begin to describe the unimaginable pain we are experiencing every moment of the day.

"The horrific and devastating loss of our parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, is something that no one should ever experience. They weren't just our parents; they were our best friends."

Brother Nick, who has since been arrested and charged in connection with their parents' murder, was not at his guesthouse on the property. Police found him miles away at a gas station store in Exposition Park, where he was purchasing a drink as law enforcement moved in.
32-year-old Nick has since been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, as well as the use of a dangerous weapon. This is understood to have been a knife, following reports that his parents were found with knife injuries.
Nick will next appear in court in January as investigators build the case against him. If found guilty, he could face life behind bars or the death penalty, Los Angeles prosecutors have said.

Nick Reiner's public struggle with cocaine and heroin addiction formed the subject of the semi-autobiographical 2015 film Being Charlie, which he wrote together with his father.
District Attorney Hochman said in a statement: "Prosecuting cases involving family violence are some of the most challenging and heart-wrenching we face because of the intimate and often brutal nature of the crime.
"Rob Reiner was one of the greatest filmmakers of his generation. His murder and his wife of more than 35 years, Michele Singer Reiner’s murder, are shocking and tragic. We owe it to their memory to pursue justice and accountability for the lives that were taken."
The statement from Romy and Jake ended by saying: "We are grateful for the outpouring of condolences, kindness, and support we have received not only from family and friends but people from all walks of life.
"We now ask for respect and privacy, for speculation to be tempered with compassion and humanity, and for our parents to be remembered for the incredible lives they lived and the love they gave."
