One Canadian YouTuber said he bought a pretty run down and abandoned house on a remote island and people have all been saying the same thing about his purchase.
Earlier this year, YouTuber Matty Clarke explained that he had spent the last couple months sorting the place out and has come up with quite a few issues.
To call the house a fixer-upper would be quite the understatement, based on the view that the YouTuber gave his viewers, mind you.
The bed was moldy, the roof was leaking, the wooden floors were damp, the paint was peeling, and just... well, it wouldn’t be a project most people would get excited about.

People in his comment section even pointed out just how much of a ‘nightmare’ the property in Placentia Bay, Newfoundland, was with some curious about if it was even worth buying.
In the video, Clarke doesn’t say how much the purchased cost him but says he simply bought it over the phone and had it all agreed after a couple of handshakes.
However, many others were impressed with Clarke’s attitude and praised him for finding so much damage to the home and being excited about finding the positives and fixing it up.

In the video description he wrote: “I bought an abandoned house on a remote island, far from civilization. No roads, no power, just me, the ocean, and the challenge of turning this forgotten place into a livable home.
“Over the past half-year, I’ve faced everything from extreme weather to unexpected repairs, all while learning what it takes to survive in isolation.”
Many users even remarked that they consider themselves DIY enthusiasts, but wouldn’t dare try giving the home a go.

Before Clarke even attempted to start ‘gutting’ the upstairs viewers see him reinforce the ceiling as he said it was starting to sag.
He also said he would put in a whole new wall in the kitchen to ultimately help prevent ceiling sag in the future.
He also said he would strip back all the flooring revealing wooden floor boards, would sand them down and insisted they would look beautiful.
Clarke also addressed one of the most pressing issues, leaks from the roof ultimately stinking up the cabin as well as damaging the interiors.

While he couldn’t deal with the bigger issue of fixing the roof, for the time being he put on a tarp and said that should at least stop more water from coming in.
While he has remarked there is lots of work to do, in a good few months, he has made a whole lot of progress.

In the video footage, Clarke was able to show the progress he had made and it is admittedly definitely on its way.
