Mysterious 140-year-long video uploaded to YouTube has everyone saying the same chilling thing

Why post a video that's too long for someone to watch before they die?

The internet has been left freaking out over a video of absolutely nothing.

No, this is not figuratively nothing where someone does something innocuous and stupid but eye-catching - it's literally a video of nothing.

The YouTube video in question is just a blank screen, and seemingly with no sound either, leaving anyone who watches it completely perplexed.

Fair enough, you might think, there are plenty of videos posted on there which don't have anything going on.

Except this one has gathered over 2 million views since it was posted on January 5, an impressive amount for any video, especially one where nothing happens.

But this isn't even the strangest thing about this video, that would be its length, because the video is listed as being over 140 years long.

Usually, YouTube videos go from around three to five minutes long up to around half an hour.

That said, there are other formats which can be much longer, with some going to around an hour or even more than.

But even the video where Emperor Palpatine from Star Wars says 'do it!' for 10 hours straight pales in comparison to a video so long that any one person would die before they got to the end.

As if a video that's physically too long for anyone to watch all the way through wasn't enough, the video, uploaded by an account called 'shinywr', just has a question mark for a title.

This being the internet, that's naturally sparked all manner of speculation over why a video which would normally not get anywhere with the algorithm has gone viral, and what on earth it means.

Already, theories abound about the mysterious film, which has a listed length of '1,234,567:30:00' - though when you click on it, it has a run time of 12 hours.

Some people claimed that the account has links to North Korea, adding yet more mystery to the strange post.

But many just piled in to say the same thing - in 10 years time, the video would have a lot of 'lore'.

That said, in 10 years you could only have watched one fourteenth of the total video.

One person wrote: "This is DEFINITELY the start of a conspiracy theory ppl are gonna randomly talk about 10 years later or something."

Another posted: "The fact that this video is from a channel in North Korea, is gonna spark SO many conspiracy theories."

Meanwhile, someone else wrote: "This is gonna have some insane lore in 10 years."
