People mindblown after seeing who is more likely to win election in 2028 out of Donald Trump and Kamala Harris

Trump and Harris are both on the list, which gives a percentage chance for potential presidential candidates in 2028

Betting odds on who will be the next US president have given a surprising result.

Both incumbent president Donald Trump and former presidential candidate Kamala Harris feature on the list, but it's the order they're in which has left people shocked.

You might think that the result of this would be something of a foregone conclusion given that Trump is currently on his second term as president, and the 22nd Amendment of the US Constitution bars anyone from having more than two terms in the Oval Office.

That might be a slight obstacle when it comes to him running for POTUS again, but alarmingly for the US constitution it seems that there are still enough people who think the Republican will return to give him odds to become president in 2028.

It also raises a contradiction in Trump's supporters who believe he beat Joe Biden in 2020, but were still fine with him running for president again in 2024, which he wouldn't have been able to do if he had actually won in 2020, but who needs logic anyway?

Trump himself has even addressed the possibility of a third term on multiple occasions.

Well, it turns out that despite being banned from running by the 22nd Amendment, he is still listed as having a higher chance of winning than Harris in 2028. Ouch.

Not only that, but web-based prediction betting platform Kalshi has Trump as twice as likely to win, with a six percent chance compared to Harris' three percent chance.

Harris entered the 2024 presidential race late after Biden dropped out following a catastrophic debate.

The election saw swing states moving over to the Republican party, though the thin margins in many swing states suggest that the election was not the rout that Trump has claimed it was.

Since his election, Trump's opinion poll numbers have slumped as the midterms approach, including on key policies such as the economy and immigration, which he has previously polled well on.

The Democrats have also scored key victories, including Zohran Mamdani winning the mayoral campaign in New York.

Who else is deemed in the running to become president in 2028?

According to Kalshi, the top candidate is Vice President JD Vance, who was given a 30 percent chance of victory.

Gavin Newsom is the top Democratic performer on the list, with 20 percent, followed by fellow Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who is level with Trump at an apparent six percent chance of becoming president in 2028.

Also on the list are Marco Rubio (six percent), Pete Buttigieg (four percent), Josh Shapiro (three percent), Gretchen Whitmer (three percent), Andy Beshear (three percent), Wes Moore (two percent), J.B. Pritzker (two percent), to name a few.

Reacting to the odds on social media, one user wrote: "Kamala’s chances of becoming president are lower than someone who literally isn’t allowed to run again. Incredible."

A second added: "That's simply WILD. Shows what a disdain people have towards the democrats."

Someone else simply said: "Brutal."

However, another user was quick to remind others: "Once again Kalshi does NOT PREDICT OUTCOMES."
