Donald Trump has sparked fresh concerns about his health with the way he signed a series of bills in the Oval Office.

The social media rumor mill went into overdrive in recent days, speculating that the US president had in fact died after a number of coincidental factors came together.

Things reached fever pitch when Vice President JD Vance made comments saying he was ready to step into Trump's place, which is the duty of the Vice President.

Ultimately, it turned out that rumors of Trump's death were greatly exaggerated, but concerns about the president's health are very much alive and well.

On Friday, Trump signed a group of bills and executive orders in the Oval Office, among which was renaming the Department of Defence the Department of War.

Though it was Trump's actions before the signing each document that has once more sparked speculation about his health.

Before signing, Trump signalled to the people assembled around him to explain the document he was signing to him.

Among the bills in front of Trump on Friday was the Homebuyers Privacy Protection Act.

This aimed to crack down on 'Trigger Leads', meaning loan applicants whose data has been sold to credit bureaus, often without their knowledge.

Trump called on Rep. John Rose (R-Tenn.) to explain the legislation in front of him before signing the bill.

Listening closely to the Congressman, Trump could be heard saying: "Good job."

The unusual actions sparked a mixture of outrage, confusion, and concern on social media where many people were left questioning the president's understanding of the bills.

One person pointed out that asking others to explain the bills could potentially leave the president open to being misled.

"They always have to explain [the bills] to him. You've got to wonder how much they lie to him," they wrote.

Meanwhile another posted: "Trump needs glasses to read. He is signing stuff he hasn't read."

But others were quick to dismiss the concerns, with one Trump supporter writing: “He has them read back for the courtesy of the media and the American people. Biden signed things he had no clue about and didn’t tell anyone including you.”

Rumors of Trump's demise began circulating after it was noted that the President's schedule had been cleared.

Although this is not itself especially unusual, some also pointed out large bruises appearing on the back of Trump's right hand similar to some spotted on Queen Elizabeth II's hand shortly before her death.

When JD Vance said he was ready to step in in the event of a "terrible tragedy" this only added to the speculation.

Trump dismissed the rumors, posting on his social media platform Truth Social that he has “never felt better”.
